Welcome to Infiniti
Following the launch in London today (12 October) announcing that premium manufacturer Infiniti will be entering the BTCC in 2015, Series Director Alan Gow has welcomed the marque:
“I’m delighted to welcome the premium brand of Infiniti to the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.
“No doubt their entry will be a complete surprise to most – but in fact we have known about, and provided our assistance to, this project from its inception some 18+ months ago. I guess that proves just how good we are at keeping things confidential…
“When I introduced the TOCA BTCC Licences it was made clear that we would make available the (short-term) loan of two licences for such a manufacturer-backed team, to provide them with immediate entry into the series – so this is a perfect demonstration of our licensing policy at work.
“With the addition of Infiniti, some 14 models from 11 brands will be on the grid of the 2015 BTCC – perhaps even more. Some of these are manufacturer-backed, like Infiniti, some are semi-manufacturer supported and some are true independents – but all have the exact same competitive instinct and desire to succeed that makes the BTCC the great championship that it is.”
