It has been confirmed today (20 July) that Stewart Lines is to return to the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship at Snetterton next weekend (29/30 July) behind the wheel of Team Parker Racing with Maximum Motorsport’s Ford Focus.
Lines competed in the BTCC for two full seasons in 2015-2016, taking a best finish of 16th place at both Thruxton and Rockingham during his rookie campaign. He also participated in the series’ recent tyre test at Snetterton.
The Midlander will replace Dennis Strandberg, who was drafted in as a substitute for Josh Cook at Croft following the latter’s mid-season move to MG Racing RCIB Insurance.
“We tried to make it work with a younger driver, and I thought the summer break would have given us time to find another racer with some budget, but that hasn’t been the case,” said Lines.
“Rather than being left high and dry, the best option was for me to do the rest of the year to make sure we can fulfil our commitment to be on the grid.”
