Dan Welch began his racing career in Formula Vauxhall in 2000 before graduating to Formula Renault UK, contesting the series between 2001 and 2006.
Moving from single-seaters to tin-tops in 2007, Welch raced in SEAT’s single-make series in both the UK and Europe until 2010, claiming numerous podiums and wins along the way. The Hampshireman also put in an appearance in the Ginetta G50 Cup at his local circuit of Thruxton in 2009, impressively tallying a victory, a second and a third-place finish from three starts.
Welch joined the BTCC halfway through 2011 at Snetterton with an NGTC Proton Gen2. He scored points in the penultimate event at Silverstone before embarking upon a full campaign the following year, achieving a career-high fourth-place finish at Oulton Park. 2014 turned out to be a largely frustrating campaign for the family-run outfit, pre-empting a development year in 2015 as the team opted to build and run its own engine.
In 2016, Welch enters his sixth season in the BTCC, with his Malaysian saloon now adorned with a striking blue-and-yellow livery.
