Prior to joining the BTCC, Hunter Abbott’s experience lay predominantly in GT racing, with outings in both British and European GT series’ and notable successes for Rob Austin Racing in 2008/9 in both British GTs and the Ginetta G50 Supercup.
In 2013, Abbott annexed six pole positions, 11 podiums and three victories in the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Benelux en route to second in the overall classification, before taking to the BTCC grid in 2014 alongside fan-favourite Rob Austin in the second of the Rob Austin Racing Audi A4s.
Abbott made a solid debut in a fiercely-competitive season, finishing 20th in the standings with several points-scoring finishes to his name. In 2015, Hunter built upon that in the rear-wheel drive Audi, before switching camps to Power Maxed Racing over the closed season. He pilots a front-wheel drive Chevrolet Cruze in 2016, looking to improve upon his best race finish of tenth.
