James Cole’s racing career began in the Formula Ford GB Championship, making his debut in 2008 before going on to take the title in 2009. After graduating first to British Formula 3 and then Formula 2, the Liverpudlian made the switch to tin-tops in 2013 in a fledgling Team HARD Vauxhall Insignia.
Cole scored points in five out of the 15 rounds he contested in 2013, with a highest-placed finish of 13th, before moving to the United Autosports team for the following season. A part campaign in 2015 for Motorbase Performance saw James break into the top ten at Silverstone in a Ford Focus ST.
For 2016, Cole was part of Silverline Subaru BMR Racing’s quartet, piloting one of the new factory-backed Subaru Levorg GTs. After a difficult first half of the campaign for the outfit, the team found its footing. Cole converted a handful of points finishes and will be returning in 2017.
