Photos from the event are now up on flickr. Don't know how many fans of rallying we have on here, but I'm definitely becoming a convert. You only get one chance to take a good photo, very different to circuit racing!
And the drivers are all certifiably insane, obviously. :D

I'm a rally fan, covered Rallye Sunseeker last weekend and have been to it every year since I was a wee toddler.

Do you follow much rallying in the UK? Or just focus on WRC/IRC?

I'm getting into rallying more - not so much WRC but IRC, that seems like a well sorted series... its run by the same people who sort out the WTCC.

Its good, but everyone who backs IRC and WRC, I urge to really give UK rallying a go! If you have the time/money, find your local event and go along.
Those wannabe Motorsport photgraphers on here, rallying can produce some superb shots. Nothing better than getting a car sliding round a bend, opposite lock, mud flicking off his tyres, splashing through a puddle :)
Also with the BRC choosing to go 2WD only next year and the National Gravel Rally Championship already gone, British Rallying is in decline, so people need to head out into the forests now to see the best WRC cars, group N machines and historics we have to offer, before they disappear.
The BTRDA series is one of the best if you can get to one of their rounds. And what better reason to go out to one than to get a final glimpse of Andy Burton is his stunning Peugeot Cosworth, seeing as the governing bodies are stupidly outruling it next year.

The recent Brands Hatch Stages was very good, organised by Chelmsford Car Club, it was very impressive and had quite a few spectators, probably more than some of the smaller club meetings that Brands Hatch holds. More of a tarmac rally, except where some cars went off line onto the grass and mud, but used the rally school area at the end of the support paddock, the support paddock, indy circuit, pitlane and pitlane paddock. This year was the first time in around 20 yrs a rally was held at Brands but there are plans to hold it again next year, well worth a visit.
Just a few of the photos I took.
