I have only recently started to following the TOCA series round the country. At every event I have seen people with very fancy passes round their necks. Is it true there is a season pass available and if so does anyone know anymore about it.
I will be extremeky grateful for the help.

At the moment there isn't a TOCA season pass. The passes you see are usually worn by drivers/ team members/sponsers etc. Octagon had a season pass for their circuits this season which covered the BTCC events but as they are now Brands Hatch Circuits Ltd this may not happen next season.
The subject of a TOCA season pass was raised in the questionnaire that we completed a few months back but we haven't seen any of the results from that yet. Fingers crossed that they are able to come up with something for us next season.

OK
Brands are still discussing this with the rest of the group. Their crimbo offers are out in Nov so if you ask em nicely, they will get you one.
Personally, I would love to see an 04 TOCA pass but it aint gonna happen till 05 at the earliest. This is a pity because on top of every other expense, the extra money for a weekend pass and camping really is a lump. Much better to get it out of the way before the season starts.
I really hope Octagon do an 04 pass but if they don't, it will give me the opportunity to miss the two meetings at Brands. This is a pity but compared to the other circuits, they are the most unfriendly and there is always a lot of crime. Our campsite was turned over twice by kids over the last weekend. There was only one Steward minding the whole site and god knows what happened to him cause the little sods nicked all his stuff as well :s
However, getting a bit off track.

I stewarded a couple of events for the company that provides the staff for the Brands Hatch circuits (never did any race meetings though) and I have to say they don't take the best attitude towards safety. Or parking. Or getting cars out...

There are lots and lots of people who walk about the tracks with 'season passes' around their necks. I'm pretty darn sure they are not all team/driver-related.
I'd certainly be interested in a standard-issue TOCA 'season pass'.

The TOCA season passes as you call them are VIP passes and are primarily for team guests, sponsors etc. This extends to TOCA guests as well. If you add up all the teams and such forth, drivers, manufacturers etc at a TOCA weekend you are going to see an awful lot of TOCA passes around. They are very tightly controlled however..... despite what you may think.
Any season pass for spectators would be a completely separate thing I would have thought. Similar to the Octagon season pass but for all the circuits on the TOCA tour.
However, as it has already been stated that such a thing is unlikely for 2004 is there any point in discussing it any further?

I can believe that mate.
At the BTCC / Cart event I had a right go at a couple of the idiots. They claimed that we couldn't bring our cars onto the campsite because of safety, not even to unload the which meant lugging all the kit across the carpark and campsite and back again. (quite a few trips) This all despite they let familays and caravans bring cars on to the Family site. Guess were not responsible enough eh.
Then, on the Monday, I catch these Stewards messing around playing a version of Motorised Bullfighting in a Graan espace, handbraking and wheelspinning around.
When I asked him what the ****** hell he thought he was doing and they could hit someone, I was told to go forth and multiply.
I did get quite a cheer from the campsite though as we were all fed up with the Stewards antics by then.
They should get the Stewards up from Thruxton. They are superb, helpfull and always a good laugh.

Knock-on, you're one brave person. At Croft I had to park in the outer car park instead of the inner car park (not the ViP) as arranged but the security had non of it and I didn't even bother to argue as they did look in a very good mood. So I to make do with that and tke all my stuff out of the car ang lug with me all day. It's nice to see someone standing up to them!!

I must stand up for the Croft security guards! They're amongst the friendliest, most helpful, security staff I have met. It was so bad I almost had to fight one of them to prove I didn't want to camp in the paddock!!

They were crap at organising the flow of traffic out of the carpark until they called for reinforcements and this 18 stone bloke appeared to shout at all the cars at Croft.

A lot of them are. Dad sponsors Barwell and at brands Hatch he was goven about 6 passes for workers (and me). And all of the poeple in the V.i.P hospitalitys have them. I think you have to either apply to a team or TOCA to get them?

IIRC (in other words completely from memory) TOCA will issue the entrant with 15 pitlane passes and 45 VIP passes (ie paddock only) PER CAR. That makes 60 passes per car - multiply that by 25 cars for the BTCC alone and you soon start to realise why so many people have them. If you then take into account all the other series racing you get the idea.

60 passes floating around per car.
Thats it, I'm gonna find the nearest team and offer to wash their cars for the year to get my hands on one.
Now, Collard or Edenbridge. Decisions, decisions. Which replaces more pannals that don't need cleaning.
Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to Fleet we go.:D
