Hi Alan. Hope you are well.

The unveiling yesterday of the new Silverstone pit and paddock complex (which I think you will agree looks superb) makes the Southern Circuit at Silverstone quite an attractive layout now.

It may be a too far in the future to answer but I was wondering if you have already considered moving to the Southern Circuit fron the National Circuit in 2012 onwards or would you prefer to continue to use the National Circuit like you will be this year?

Also - purely out of idle interest but would Silverstone be likely to charge more for using the new pit and paddock complex on a race weekend compared to the old complex or would it likely to be the same? If they did charge more then I assume that would be a major consideration and probably answers my question above!

Thanks for answering and also many thanks for providing us with the best racing series in the world.

The reason we can't yet use the new building and circuit layout is nothing to do with any cost of hiring the venue, as it's not relevant to us. It is simply due to the new paddock area, located behind the new building, not being able to also accommodate all our support races and infrastructure at this time.

Obviously it would create major logistical (and practical) issues to have the BTCC in the new building and all or some of the support races located quite a long distance away at the opposite end of the circuit in the existing paddock area. However Silverstone's ongoing development plan will address this issue, and we look forward to using the new facility and configuration when it has.
