Watched the rerun last night - there was so much I forgotten!

Tom Chilton third, Matt Neals horrendous bad luck, Alan getting new slicks just as the heavens opened, Phil hitting the podium truck, the rain and rain and rain.

I have to say Tim Harvey was spot on with his commentary - he must be able to see in the future....

But not if you watch the Motors TV repeats - that was all "off the cuff".

Indeed. The Motors TV coverage was a repeat of the live coverage on the day, not the ITV show edited and voiced over mid-week.

It was the first time I'd seen that coverage as I was in Ireland over that period. The TV coverage doesn't do justice to how wet, windy and freezing it really was. Ireland had been clear and warm since February and certainly the week leading up to Mondello was more like an early summer month. Even practice on the saturday was good. Then raceday.... I think Mondello Park must be meteorlogically linked to Brands Hatch!!

OH MY GOD... I'M TALKING ABOUT WEATHER. Time to ring EXIT.

I wasn't talking about Tim's commentary on just the actual race - I mean his thoughts etc on the whole season.

i just like the way on the itv one tim can imeadetly tell what mechanical failure it is about 1 second after its happened. :)

Tim has an amazing amount of experience not only in BTCC but Le Mans, British GT etc etc. There can hardly be a track in the world where he hasn't driven, either in a race or testing. Motors TV certainly picked the the right guy to commentate. He writes BTCC race reports on their website and they are better than any of the motor-sports magazine reports.

Tim is also good at all those little snippets of gossip and for extra background. He will talk about conversations he has had with so & so before the race - he also calls a spade a spade!

Exactly......I wonder how happy Honda were to have him mention they'd approached him for Tom Chilton's drive Live on Motors TV....but it was a fascinating ***-bit notheless! ;)

If you've had as many mechanical failures as Tim, they are probably quite easy to spot.

...in fact even if you haven't, it's quite easy to tell whether the problem is tyre / suspension / engine / electrical.

Hello from Ireland
I think that mondello our Fab track here in our fab country has something that just changes the weather or some thing...
Cos anyone remember this year and 2002 (i think)
There was a dry track until the btcc lads got on the grid and it LASHED rain for about 5-10 mins and they didnt know wheather (sorry bad pun) to put on wets or stay on slicks

But only for the start of the second btcc race it rained...
not for any of the support races if i rember correctly
