So what do you all think of the news that VLM, Team Dynamics and Team Varta have decided to join SCV8 (as well as BTCC it appears)?

I haven't seen a calendar for this series yet but apparently there are no clashes with the BTCC. Is this healthy competition, no competition or a serious threat to BTCC?

oops! i just posted about this on the BTCC bit - and you have answered my question.

i cant see it doing any harm - a bit of healthy competition between 2 national series can only be a good thing.

have to wait and see who is driving and where and when.

I would like to see a round or two but wouldn't go out of my way unlike BTCC. (unless of course I have some good mates in it)

It wil be interesting to see what the ticket prices will be. must be less than the touring cars.

the cars certinly look the business - and 180mph top speed.

There is certainly alot of enthusiasm for this series. As Bramble says they are capable of 180+ mph (this on the main straight at Silverstone I believe). With flames out of the exhaust on the overrun they are apparently quite a sight, and sound!

With one theme which keeps recurring on this forum being the lack of anything like the Oz V8's over here - sounds like some peoples wishes may come to fruition (licences etc permitting of course).
