Colin's confiremed he not in the WRC next year

I am really sad that he has left. He was such a unique in his all all or nothing apprach to driving the car. I just hope that he returns in 2005. And who else is gonna wind up the othwer drivers with his really personel comments.

Its not the end of Colin though...

He's been linked with the Dakar Rally, and maybe he'll put in another ASCAR appearance?

It appears to be a year out with hopes of a return for 2005. Forget the propaganda, all Colin's supposed rivals, especially Richard Burns, understand his value to the championship. With his profile, would Mr Gow consider consider trying to engineer the opportunity for Colin to guest drive in next years BTCC ?

Will the 2004 WRC champion beat the best field, with Mcrae and Makkinen not competing ?

He's been there and done that!!!:)

Long time ago though! We can't remember the details but we have a feeling he took someone out (Matt?) and got excluded from the results.

Mind you - he did well at ASCAR last year.

He will have to cut out the "holier than thou" attitude if he comes to BTCC.

Your right, it was matt. Its in Mcare's autobiography.

what a way to finish - a puncture and fixing it to finish 4th.
And they are saying he has signed to do the Paris Dakar Rally

As for the holier than thou attitude - I can think of a few current BTCC drivers or potentially returning drivers who could do with going back to charm school. ;)

Looks like he may be in the Impreza next year after all. A deal is on the table by the sounds of it.

Dave Richards is today quoted as saying a deal for Colin to fill in next year for Richard Burns at Subaru looks unlikely. It seems the increased costs of the season precludes payment of the salary Colin would expect. Still hope the deal comes off though.

whats going off with colin mcrae, when i watched the previews of the world rally 2003 the presenter (on eurosport) said he had struck a deal with ascar, the next thing i know hes doing rally raid in a nissan xcab,i also heard that he had resigned with subaru for the 2004 world rally championship,i mean what is he actually doing?i know carlos sainz beat him to the world rally championship 2004,but was stopping him entering a privately owned car in group N....at least that would have kept him in the championship, and gave more of a chance to be resigned by one of the manufacturers for 2005 because he would be still in the rally championship.i think the biggest mistake wrc have done is get rid of colin, but then again we cant argue with all the new rules and regulations can we.

He is definately not signing to do the season with Prodrive - not in the WRC anyway. It is always possible he may team up with them in sportscars and it is rumoured that he is being courted by a couple of teams to run at Le Mans. He is currently doing the Paris-Dakar.
