I really enjoyed the Minis and the Scottish Classic Sports & Saloons, I hope we see them back supporting the BTCC at Knockhill next year.

I enjoyed the Scottish Classic Sports and Saloons. Always good to see the old cars still out there competing. Don't like Minis.

I enjoyed the manic Minis, the classics were a very diverse collection and it was great to see them all racing together....ahhh, nostalgia :)

Brilliant racing at Knockhill today. Would like to see more of the Mini's and some similar sort of racing to the Classic race at normal meets instead of the Renault series races as I find these very boring to watch although it does allow time for going around the pits.

Loved the action from the support package at knockhill more then the main btcc races. Maybe a historic btcc race could be fitted on to the calendar sometime in the future.. Far better then open wheel renault race and will draw more fans

It was great having the classics racing and they provided a great change to the renaults. May I also add that this year the Ginetta Juniors were really entertaining, especially car 34 (Christie Doran). Despite all her spins she just kept going (was a shame she never finished the last race). Great effort for her first race.

If anyone enjoyed the mini and classic sports & saloons and would like to see more, their races are covered by Motors TV a few weeks after they race. The SMRC website has all the details of when they are racing and when it will be on the telly.
I have to say I was surprised at how many visitors commented about how much they enjoyed the races. I'm spoilt as I see them race several times a year.

I really didn't like the Historics, they provide just no excitment for me. The Minis were okay though, but prefer the more professional, higher quality Renault series.

you are having a turkish mate, last year renault brought 22 cars in total to the hill, this year we had 2 fields of 25 plus cars and the racing was a credit to the ladies and gents of the SMRC, there was battles aplenty in the minis and lots of good racing in classics, i hope renault dont come back next year and Alan Gow gets the minis back, could run either classics again or put the SMRC legends on, dont forget joe public wants to see good racing and club racers always deliver
as for not being professional all the cars are well prepped and looking good

The MINIs provided great entertainment. Much better than we usually get from the clios these days. And the standard of the driving seemed pretty good too.
I have to admit that the classics tend to be a bit processional, but I just love seeing those old cars on track.

For me the Renault series are slick, professionally run championships and deserve to be on the BTCC package, where the pinnacle of British Motorsport is. Club racing series are just that, club level, and while it's kind of nice seeing them on the big stage, I still would prefer to see the Porsches/Ginettas/Renaults lining up each week.

For Me I would have...
Ginetta juniors
Ginetta Gt supercup
Renault Clio Cup
Formula Renualt
And drop the Carrera's I think they have far to many laps, so god damn boring would rather more laps for the other races then carrera's.

sorry but both renault series are in decline, they both used to be strong but from watching them on ITV4 this year the porkers are offering more racing, you cant have a race with a dozen cars, as for professionally run if you mean polished artics as opposed to transits and trailers then you never saw some of the ginettas at the hill, transit or motorhome, gazebo and trailer. I dont care how polished the wagons are it is cars on track that count

I said nothing about the Wagons  I just think the whole set ups are much more professional and prefer to see them.

I for one watch the Porsche races as me and hubby follow Michael Caine. Obviously if, as another thread suggests, he moves to BTCC that might change. Personally I think both Renaults are boring and we have a look around the pits etc. while they are racing.
We didn't go to Knockhill because it's too far as we live in Cambridgeshire but we thoroughly enjoyed watching the Mini race and it was also great to see the classics out on track.

The amusing thing about the Minis is that whilst the average grid over the season has been around the 17 to 20 mark it shot up to 27 for the BTCC weekend and it's believed that hairdressers in the central belt of Scotland suddenly found themselves inundated with race drivers all keen to look their best for the TV cameras.
Some names hadn't been out all season. Some had only been out a couple of times and some really shouldn't have bothered.
