In Autosport today it says that the BTCC rounds at Knockhill are going ahead. Alan Gow has approved the circuit upgrades. Great news ~ we had already booked our flights!!:D

Let's just hope they got rid of the world's worst toilet... One of them was just beyond a joke when I last went there.

I've never had a problem with toilets - just lack of drinking water last year. As long as what ever improvements have been do not ruin the uniqueness that is Knockhill (like low fences)

The one I'm talking about (I know I've gone on about it before, I just think it's ridiculous if it's still in existence), is gents only, literally a fenced off area with an animal drinks trough in. Whatever went in this just filled up a ditch outside the fenced area. In 2002 that was just unacceptable. Two years on though, I'm sure they must have got rid of it.

Ah that one...

Last time I was at Knockhill was June last year, boy was it kickin off a pong that day.

Never used it but wouldn't have a problem with using it if I needed to, but wouldn't see the point in that as there are toilets at the hairpin now I believe and also some portaloos at Clarks.

dear oh dear that does sound bad. :(

Mind you went to Snett end of last year to find someone had lit a bonfire in ours... oh joy

Thank goodness knockhill is back :)

Living in the north of scotland, it's the only course that is practicable for me to attend, so last year was a bit tortuous with no live btcc event.

No matter the condition of the toilets, i'd happily crap in my pants so long as I can see the btcc at knockhill....well, perhaps not.

It's a particular shame they missed knockhill last year as for the first time in many years, we actually had a real summer with sunshine and everything. We'll doubtless be back to the usual soggy quagmire this year. But who doesn't enjoy having to have their car towed out of the carpark (muddy field) by a tractor?

Now that's dedication!!

Besides, it's Knockhill, hopefully it'll rain at SOME stage of the weekend, makes for exciting grids/races that way! :D

Please no! ;)

It's a fact that at every car meeting in 2003, it never rained once. :) Doesn't mean to say it won't be bitterly cold though.......

Umm! You obviously were not at Mondello were you?

It was just a little damp.:(

Other than that you may well be correct. For the actual race day anyway (cos we got soaked at Silverstone too on the Saturday).

But rain at Knockhill is all part of the fun!!

I think Cleland Fan acually meant every car meeting at Knockhill, as opposed to every BTCC meeting in 2003.:)

I can see that would make sense Peter!!:D

Sorry Cleland Fan - I guess it won't happen again though will it? I will still bring my waterproofs!:)

Same here...and at Knockhill in August, it's also advisable to pack the shorts and tee-shirt but bring the woolly jumper, just in case :) .

But please, no rain this year - we lost half of the race in 2002 whilst the cars lapped for ages behind the safety car, trying to create dryish line.....boring. And with everyone trying to squeeze into the shed at Taylor's to get out of the rain, it became cramped with a poor view. Wasn't much fun, really.

I can see Knockhill from my flat in Edinburgh and unfortunately it's normally covered in either rain or snow clouds :-)

Currently a little misty but dry looking (some frost I suspect) hehe!

Hasn't the terracing at Taylors been extended and given a new 'roof'?

Knockhill: I envy you. I love (and miss) Edinburgh and intend making the most of this year's Knockhill meeting with a good few days either side, both in the city and exploring the area.
