brilliant! I'm so pleased that his first podium was the result of hard graft and skill not just luck. That will be an important boost for his confidence. Mature performance all weekend.

Fantastic drive! Jenson seems to have really matured over the winter, and he seems to have really risen to the challenge of leading the team.
What price a win at Silverstone?

That was a fantastic drive. He has always been very quick at this circuit and, up until now, something mechanical always stepped in right at the end. I am so pleased he finally got that elusive first podium.:D

About time too and very well done - the team and JB deserved this well before now. Think I shared a heart stopping moment with Martin Brundle for a split second when Takuma Sato parked it though. Loved Jensons dad on TV this morning talking to Louise.

it was a brillant drive on Jenson's behalf. only 20 seconds behing MS as well.
Bad luck for Webber. Oh yeaha quick big it up for Hiedfeld. It was doing ****** great in his jordan, ahead of Massa and Fisi and could have got points I think. Although his car is not that good he gets on with the job. He reminds me of verstappen + De la Rosa when they had there stints at Arrows. They always push and give it there all.

Good to see the results that Jenson has promised for so long. He's often forgotten but look at some of the races over the last couple of years and he's been up there - the sort of consistency that makes him a natural team leader.
I remember when he burst onto the FFord scene 6 years ago (is it really that long?). It was great to watch someone in the lower formulas that you knew would make it. Made sure I took loads of photos at the time!
Sorry to say I lost faith a bit in 2001 but looking back it's difficult to go from a top-line ride to the back of the grid for any driver, never mind one in his second season. Since then I've been ever more impressed by his performances and hope to see him battling with Montoya, Alonso, Raikkonen for honours over the next few years.
Glad to see he's the subject of most of the 'silly season' rumours.

JB seems to get better and better. Until his equipment is ultra quick and ultra reliable, he needs to be content to just stroke it home to secure good points, backing off if necessary. His drives show an increasing maturity. In a couple of seasons to come, if he keeps progressing, it wouldn't surprise me if got a drive with one of the top three teams and gave himself a real chance of the title. He is more the Damon Hill or David Coulthard school than Nigel Mansell, not a hard charger, but a thoughtful driver, happy to play the percentages.
I suspect British F1 fans are about to have a new hero.

He finally has a car again that will let him show his skill and speed.
So here is the question should he stay or should he go?
Can the BAR develop into a car that will ever be a match for the Williams, or is a return to Williams on the cards?

Hmmm, BAR must be up for sale, there won't be much interest in it for BAT if tobacco advertising is banned, so even if they have an experienced workforce under a good management team now, it might not always be the case. You only have to look at Alain Prost's experiences to see it's not simply a case of taking over an established team.
Williams on the other hand have always been there or thereabouts and Jenson seemed to get on with the management style during his time there in 2000.
Whilst it would be nice to get all the glory with BAR, how often does a team break into the top 4? Apart from the occasional good season from Jordan, Sauber and Stewart, no team has challenged the 'establishment' in the last 15 years.

I'm with kevin on this. If you had to put money on which team will be quickest next year - Williams or BAR - you'd have to go for Williams. They're just a more extablished front-running team. They don't need to break their duck, they don't need to break into the top few teams, they're there already.
BAR would be a riskier gamble. But imagine the glory if he managed to do what Villeneuve never did with the team...

I dont think its difficult to see BAR in the top 3 at all, especially if MacLaren dont get their act together.

And another podium today. Let's hope he makes a habit of it - it's great to have a successful British driver to follow (as DC is obviously going to have a rubbish year in that McLaren).

I hate the way ITV think that us all being Brits would like to see Button on the podium. I would rather have seen Trulli and JPM on the podium over Button.
ITV have over-hyped him to much and i'm sick of the sight of him.

Two podiums in a row is fantastic for Jenson and B.A.R, he is going to be top Brit this season, makes a change from DC. His season is over if the McLaren doesn't improve.
I agree with Kelvin all of DC's interviews are the same but when you quailify mid grid and end up either in the lower points places or no where at all what else is there to say!!
Lets hope that Jenson's great start continues, it would be awesome to see him on the podium at Silverstone and at all the races in between. :D

What else can he say? Apart from saying what he really thinks of this year's package! Hmmm perhaps not the best career move!
MS's interviews all tend to be the same - as do Barichello's come to think of it.
But agree we need a bit of variety in the end of race quotes. Maybe they should be forced to fit certain words or phrases into their interviews that are randomly selected by computer beforehand! Oooh reminds me of school when you had to get a certain phrase into a particular lesson! :D

What annoyed me most was during qually. Button qualifys behind Sato. ITV were going on like it was the end of the world. And instead of giving Sato credit they were just talking about how dissapointing Button was cos he qualifyed 6th.
Also nearly every other line is Button this, Button that...
BUTTON IT!
