I hope and belive Anthony Reid can do it for MG in the ZS, just hope the boys at WSR & MG have got that beautful sounding engine to give a little more torque/power.
I think the main challenger to MG will be Honda , but i wish MG all the best:)

Neal will have a chance, as will Muller & Thommo and look out for Reid.

Leslie will have a few wins, maybe like the Honda in 2003! :)

I think the ZS will be getting a 4 cylinder engine this year, in place of its V6. If the cars as good as its meant to be, then with a good engine with plenty of torque, MG will walk it...

m interseting, i heard MG were developing a 4cyl 2.0ltr for their racing programme, yeah, if thats true MG will easilly will the championship, but i really do love th sound of the V6, although it dosent sound very beefy!

If that is the case, then look out for Reid and Hughes.

Will the TAK cars have V6's or 4 cylinders then though?

I'm just reading into that press release, that said something along the lines of:

"MG will be devloping a 2.0 version of the K-series 4 cylinder, initially to be used in motorsport applications"

Wonder what they tested in Spain with??

MG have always said they have the cassis but not the engine, if I remember rightly they made a break thought with the handling the second brands meeting last year, I think the extra torque in a 4 cylinder would go a long way in 2003 providing thereĆ*s been enough development on it

My predictions are

Neal
Tommo
Muller
Reid
Hugues if it rains :)

IĆ*m very interested to see what proton pull out of the hat this year Ɩ.

thommo's going to win the title again this year.
muller, neal, morrison will all be right up there challenging and so will MG if they use the 4 cylinder engine.

Honda will be Vauxhalls main contender this year I recon. Look out for some close thought battles. MG and Proton won't be far behind.

MG for me.

If the engine rumours are true then the new engine will be a hell of a unit

Either Matt or Jimmy will do for me! Be great to see it go down to the wire again.

Reid is desperate and if the ZS is capable, then he will win it!

unless MG get this new 4 cylinder engine i can't see either of its drivers winning the championship.
if they do get the new engine and get it sorted quickly then they could win races on a far more regular basis.

I shall be cheering for Alan M and I'm hoping he will start this season as he finished the last one.:D

the V6 of the MG is without a doubt underperforming, during the off season i have been looking at the speed trap figures frm the BTCC, and the MG's are alwas at the bottom, around 4-5mph slower than the rest, strangely thouh the TAK cars and drivers are more than often ahead of the works cars through the speed traps! The main problem with the MGis Torque, look at donnington 2002, warren hughes carrying +66kgs in qualifying and purely due to the weight he was around 14th and 12th on the grid, just shows how the MG really cant pull the weight, whereas the vauxhalls even with the full ballast can make a top 4 qualifying position. I do believe in MG and im sure WSR have been working there arses off to get the V6 or new 4cyl engine up to the standard of the rest, ifthey do, they will run away with the championship, the ZS has the best chassis. :)

Going on what the media are saying here they predict the Hondas are the dark horse. The Aussies media take the piss out of the Proton Team and think it's a joke.

Why do they take the piss out of them? :(

They did quite well last year.

Hondas are hardly the dark horses, almost everyone has been tipping them to win.

This may be the ZS's last year so iam betting MG will put more into it this time.

i agree with you mg zs ex260, if MG use a 4 cylinder engine they could dominate the btcc this year.
