In an unexpected move, Kelvin Burt has signed for Veloqx Motorsport / Team Maranello Concessionaires to compete in the N-GT class of the FIA GT Championship.
Kelvin will be sharing a Ferrari 360 Modena N-GT with ASCAR sparring partner Darren Turner. The other car will be driven by Jamie Davies and Tim Mullen.
It is still unclear whether this affects the fact that Kelvin had re-signed with RML to do a second season of ASCAR. There is one clash between the two series - on July 27th.
The only UK round of the FIA GT series is at Donington Park on June 29th.

Good news for Kelvin - seems to be very under-rated in my opinion.
Hopefully he can still race in ASCAR too.
Forgive my stupidity with GTs but is this the same car/catagory as Rickard Rydell in 2001?

Nope - Rickard did European Touring Cars (ETCC) for Volvo in 2001 i.e. saloon-based. GTs are based on sports cars such as Porsche 911 GT3, Saleen S7, Lister Storm etc...
Hope this helps :)

He definately drove a Prodrive prepared Ferrari (I think with Menu?) at some point after 2000.
Wasnt Volvo ETCC in 2002? or was there some in 2001 as well?

Off the top of my head, I think Rydell did Le Mans in a Prodrive Ferrari with Menu and Enge, but I could be wrong.

Rickard was over here in the ETCC last year.

Been hunting for the magazine I thought I saw it in - its a french Ferrari Models monthly magazine (Nov 2001) and inside is a picture of Rydell and Menu in Prodrive Ferrari overalls on the top step of the podium. Cabt make out the logos on the podium backdrop but they appear to be FIA European Touring Car Championship and GT logos.
According to the article (which I dont fully understand as its French) its at Jamara in Spain - so definately not Le Mans.
Does this sound familiar to anyone??

Just checked, and it was Enge, Rydell and Menu in that Ferrari. They were car #58 at Le Mans, and were leading their class comfortably until they retired half way.

also rydell/menu drove the prodrive 550 maranello in the 2001 FIA GT championship ( rather unsuccessfully tho!) prodrive have since moved on to the ALMS and le mans and now BMS scuderia italia run 2 prodrive prepared cars in the FIA GT champinoship (has many wins this year- but no one comes close 2 my fave driver ever! christophe bouchout in the larbre viper) and on the subject of 'velouqx' dont get me started on how much i hate them, i could go on for hours and i dont think the moderators would be too impressed! (p.s i have some VERY valid reasons!)
