Natalie will be racing in the Clios at Silverstone with Aurok. She plans to take part in at least four other meetings depending on her rallying commitments.

Thats good to hear, She shows good speed in last years Seat.
So whats the Rally champ she is driving in this year and does she stand much of a chance of doing well? By that I mean whats the car like.

Catch you late Amanda.

Natalie was driving an MG, another casualty of MG 'no sport' and 'no racing' While MG, on their own website, still sing the praises of poeple like Natalie, Anthony Reid, Warren Hughes, they are rapidly falling by the wayside... what a ******* mess!!

Good luck to Nat in her new car..

Natalie previously competed in the Clio Cup at Oulton Park last year but decided to return to rallying instead of doing a full Clio season this year.

yeap, she originally was planning to do the full year of clios, she actually owns the car herself, but then a sponsor approached her to do the jwrc.

I believe this is the last year she can do the Junior Rally.

Wasn't too quick in testing - Lightweight has competition again ;)

Another outing trailing round at the back. She's hopeless, on Racing Rivals last year she came across as arrogant, refusing on more than one occasion to accept advice. Total waste of space, and making it harder for women to be taken seriously in motorsport.

As a woman I'd love to be able to support more women in motorsport, but only if they're actually as good as the guys.

It's great watching the likes of Susie Stoddard getting points and podiums but Natalie Barratt in the Clios and Melanie Healey in the Seat Cupras both running stone last, even behind the damaged cars, just reinforces all the duff stereotypes that women are rubbish at driving.

Natalie's really good at rallying, why doesn't she stick with that instead of trying to do something which she has less talent for?

I'll give Healey some credit for this though: during the RR coverage she seemed determinined to listen to the advice given ;and slowly but surely improved her technique.

Natalie just adapoted an "I know best" attitude and didn't improve.

I'll bet you that given the budget you'd be out in the SEATs or Clios this year? I know I would, and I wouldn't give a stuff if I was last. I don't critizise Barrett for doing something she enjoys. But I'd at least have the sense to listen when someone as experienced as Plato offered advice.

Stoddart has proved on merit that she's no "token female", fully deserving her place in F-Renaults and her nomination for the Autosport award. Women *can* succeed in motorsport if they are determined enough and adopt the right attitude.

yep, she doesn't make women in racing look good...if i were female i'd be embarrassed by her. but she's not the only female out there like that, there was another in the SEAT's lastyear who was exactly the same.

I was questioned by Seats PR firm on Sunday (didn't realise until the end!!!) about why I liked some drivers rather than others.

One question was - have you ever been put off by one of the Seat drivers. My reply - only last year - by Natalie - talk about rude!! - They didn't sound suprised.

Les i have to agree,

I asked her at Rockingham to sign the driver profile sheet and she had the gaull to question it.

On the other hand i met one of the new SEAT drivers Jon Lanceley and he was nicest person i had met and even sent me an email saying sorry for not having much time to chat. That what i call a proper racing driver!!!!!

that was what I trying to get across to the Seat PR people - it doesn't take a lot and you have a fan for life - just a bit of time and not talking to us as we know nothing about racing or are 5 year olds. Just remember some of us have been going to circuits longer than they have!!

Heard one interesting story though - don't accept a lift from Rui especially on motorways - he uses all the lanes including the hard shoulder at any time, at any speed. One driver bottled out of a return trip ;)
