So Reid is aparently in trouble for what really was a great 3rd race today.....
But was there anyone here around Abbey and the straight between Abbey and Bridge??
Because what I saw should see Neal excluded from the meeting in my opinion.
At the end of the race on the slowing down lap he stormed past 5-6 cars going full speed into Abbey, then pulled alongside Reid was looking over and pointing at him as he went past us, the drove into the side on Antoney, then he went out of my sight, I hope someone saw that because it was disgraceful
Apart from that a great days racing

Reid complained and Matty ended up seeing the CofC.

Ah thanks for that info. I used to be a big fan of Neals until a year or so ago

Yeah, this kind of 'letting off of steam' is a repeat of what we've seen in the past:
- Reid vs. Muller at Brands 2003
- Reid vs. Rydell at Brands 1998
Hmm... before anyone screams that Reid is the common factor, I'm sure there are some other examples! I just can't think of any! :)
What about that nutter, Roberto Ravaglia? :)

The whole incident was caught on motors tv and could be clearly seen after the race was over.I think neal will be in big trouble over that taking things a bit too far.

oohhh dear Matt what was he thinking j, must have popped into the kitchen to get a brew first time round, just watched it again on my Tivo and you can quite clearly see Neal and Reid going side by side out of Abbey then Neal swerves quite hard into the side of ReidÃ*s car just before Bridge Ö. Not good

:) I am stating this as a completely unconnected person to Mr Chilton...
Did anyone notice during the Neal /Reid spat, the young, hot-headed, impetuous annoying Tom Chilton backing off and taking his time while two elder grandees of the sport (who have right to be there according to Plato!) took to the grass.
Then on the slowing down lap M Neal rubbing down the side of Reid. And reid being late for the podium. All very grown up. Just like little old Tom.
Now stop whinging about the young talent and cheer his precocious talent.
I love being right.

This incident happened right in front of us and you could clearly see Matt jink sideways and hear the clunk of the two cars. I read that apparently they'd had words on Saturday too. In the course of racing these things happen. They shouldn't happen on purpose after the race.

Yep, saw it as well. Dreadful show from Matt (and that's from a fan!)
I didn't miss the irony of Chilton's win, either. Hopefully, he'll build on this and become the fine driver he's capable of.

Certainly saw that move, totaly unacceptable behavior on a race track and deserves punishment. Neal has gone down in my estimations.

Reid's no angel.
Besides, he's in trouble for the thompson incident, nothing to do with Matt Neal.

Thompsons wingeing on Reids driving was a bit unfair especially after what Thompson did to his own team mate John Cleland when he forced him onto the grass at Donnington and stole the race off him.

Reidy was definitely at fault in the Thompson incident. He cut right across the corner with what looked like all 4 wheels over the grass, which in itself was cheating, then rammed into Thomspon and pushed past him. It's the sort of thing I do when playing racing games on my PC and is deserving of a penalty.
The Neal/Reid incident (during the race) was less clear cut. I got the impression that Reid went very wide on purpose to close the door on Neal on the outside but I guess he has the right to do that - it's not as if he was weaving back and forth across the track to stop Neal getting past - he just moved wide and held it there until Neal hit him and they both found the grass. Neal was at least equally at fault, imo.
It sounds like the parade lap incident was pretty pathetic on the part of Neal.
But there was a lot of dubious driving throughout the 3 races, some of which happened much further down the field and so seems to avoid attracting the same attention as the incidents nearer the front.

That was Snett 96 wasn't it? John wasn't very happy after that! Thompson can hardly talk, he brushed the Plato 99 incident off, and that was much, much worse!

You may be right, Thought it was Donnington tho. I met JC testing at Brands a week later and asked him to sign my copy of Autosport. Having done so He asked if he could have a quick look at the Magazine. He opened the Mag at the prvious meetings review saw the picture of JT winning the race, Said " Little S!*T gave the book back and walked off.
