I don't think the Channel 4 series is on until the Autumn, but there are supposed to be highlights in Motorsport UK too, which starts next Sunday on ITV.

Racing Rivals starts in July on Channel 4.

thats a bit rubbish for spectators, part of the seat thing is the different characters.

as theres been nothing on tv, the drivers are just names to me.

also not that great for the sponsors, limited epoxsure.

No different to last year when Racing Rivals started mid-way. The nature of the programme means that they need a while to put it together. It is not really a race-coverage programme.

In additional to that, SCC also has exactly the same coverage as all the other BTCC support races.

As for the drivers just being just names, how is that any different to, say, the Clio Cup?

Looking at the top six:

Current championship leader Tom Boardman was in the BTCC up until last year.

Gavin Smith, James Pickford and Gordon Shedden raced in SEATs last year (thus already appearing in one series of Racing Rivals)

Oli Wilkinson is in his third year of BTCC tintop support races (Clios 2002-2003)

Lewis Carter is the 2003 Pirelli Maranello Ferrari Challenge Champion

Not in the top-six but worth a mention:

Rob Austin was in British F3 up until last year

Melanie Healey, Spencer Marsh (if he carries on), Emmit O'Brien and Ben Winrow were also in SEATs last year.
