So, just finished watching the brilliant live coverage of Knockhill, and that has to be the best race this year. Action everywhere, and some fantatic ( and suprisingly ) clean driving from Anthony Reid, and some great moves from Eaves.
Congratulations to WSR, that MG is on pace with everyone else now, and it just show's even an independent team with little funding can still produce great cars.
It look's as though the BTCC is on the up....all we need is a few more manufactors next year, and then this coupled with good lvie coverage means the BTCC will reach a wider audience.
Well done Alan :D

cracking race.
great drives by thommo and turkington as well from the back of the grid.
Reid is only 24 behind championship leader muller now, the MG is flying at the moment, no doubt its the best car, and with the vauxhall's looking like sitting ducks and seemingly don't have the pace to win races, is reid the title faveourite now?

I was at Knockhill today and the entire day was superb - £17 well spent!
As much as the MG looks like it has been developed into the best car, and as much as I'm a fan of reid and his driving style, I don't think he could be called favourite. After all, he's well behind Thomson and Muller in the Championship standings.
But I'd never say never.....

Brilliant racing from all the drivers,a couple of great races.Reid is in with a great chance for the title he's looking really consistent as is the mg.The battle between muller and plato was class not an inch given by either driver. The only disappointment for me was the unfortunate shaun watson smith drove the tires off the proton but it just could'nt live with the others surely a top drive for him next season.

Top result by the MG's
WSR are a real top team, and their efforts despite MG Rover not backing them, are comning good.
Anthoney Reid really had the bit between his teeth and it will be good to watch the circus live in 2 weeks at Brands.
Great rule changes by Mr Gow, a real top race series, which puts the likes of F1 into Perspective.
Overtaking, rubbin, racing.
But yeah, a little more backing from the Manufacterers -
Come on Guys - We buy your cars.

What a brilliant day of racing!!
I love Knockhill and thank God Alan put the race back on the calendar. Maybe all BTCC meetings should be held at Knockhill ;)
Great drives by Anthony Reid. This is the first time that Anthony has officially won two races in one day. He really is driving at the very peak of his game and lets keep our fingers crossed that he can win all of the next 9 races :D

Absolutley fantastic racing, race three has got to have been one of the best races I've seen, so good that I'll probably watch it again on the replays at 10 tonight.
Colin 17th to 3rd, and Anthony 7th to 1st !!!!!!!!!!!!, Muller not even a contender today really.
All this with Brands, a well known Favourite for the MG drivers, only 2 weeks away.
23 points between Reid and Muller, the gap ain't that big, watch your back we're comin' at ya!

Coverage was excellent, ok it had it's little errors etc i.e sound at the begining but they were soon sorted.
Most importantly, I was very impressed by the multitude of cameras on the cars, don't think I've seen so many before, partically in a Live race and i think they add so much to the racing, allowing viewers to get a much better view of the closeness involved.
Ben and Tim clearly enjoyed commentating on it and only added to the excitement as the races unfolded. Loads of overtaking, bumping/nudging which is what the BTCC and Touring Cars are all about as we all know too well.
Just don't know where to carry on, other than I hope the coverage today will have caught the attention of potentially lots of new fans and more importantly, manufacturers.
It really is wide open as to potential winners and even though it may not be a purists dream, it certainly provides excellent motor racing.

Race 3 today was an absolute stunner - the MGs are certainly peaking at just the right time!
Those of you who do not believe that Reid is one serious title contender, think about this...
...he is ONLY 23 points behind Muller and 22 behind Tommo. His total points tally from today's meeting alone was a massive 38 points from a total possible of 51!
Muller, Tommo, Plato and Neal emerged from Scotland with 16, 18, 22 and 17 points respectively!
There are three meetings remaining, nine races, and the opportunity of a maximum of 153 points!
...I suggest those that have ruled out anybody but Muller or Tommo winning the 2004 BTCC think again!
Mark my words!

Remenber 1998, Ried closed a massive gap to Rydell. If Ried has good races I don't see why not but I think I tempting fait. I want Ried to win the championship so much I really wish + hope it does happen. If he didn't have engine problems at brands + if his door didnt fall of at Mondello he would have been leading the standing.
I know why dont they bring back the dropped score system that robbed Ried of the 2000 championship (Rademacker helped to). That would make he closer to Muller + Thommo

I have to say, that was probably the best BTCC meeting I've ever seen, there have been the occasional race that have topped todays 3, but not a whole meeting of great races, and then topped off by one of the best races ever in race 3.
Although it will be difficult, if Reid was to win the championship now, it would be one of the greatest come backs to win the BTCC in recent history

Well it's never over till the fat lady sings and Reid is certainly the man on a mission. However, I really do think his chances of winning the championship are slim. VX Racing had a very sloppy weekend - largely through bad luck and driver errors. So it is unlikely that Reid is going to have as big an opportunity come Brands Hatch. Vauxhall are likely to get their act together and pull something out of the bag. But, hey, don't get me wrong, no one on the planet would like to see Anthony win more than myself.
Go Reidy go!!:D

According to the race report on the home page, Reid has received a fine and a suspended one race ban for the incident with Tom Chilton and Colin Turkington down at the hairpin!!!:o Come on guys, that was one slight contact that Reid had and the stewards are quick to jump on him. Did anyone else get fines or punishments? Thought not.

At the end of 2002 and another Vauxhall whitwash I really couldn't be bothered following the BTCC as much I did before, especially as Knockhill was taken off the tour.
However today reminded me how outstanding it is. The noise, the smells, the amazing action. That third race was absolutely amazing, action throughout the field throughout the race. If you were at the hairpin for that one, you know what I mean.
Reid, the drive of the day 7th to 1st and there were some moves by him out there. Whoever wins this championship will have deserved it and though my I'm rooting for Reid, I'm supporting the BTCC and anything that benefits it I'm all for.
Especially if it means Reid winning.;)
And thanks, thanks, thanks Alan Gow for putting Knockhill back on the tour... and some heat, eh?

The first time I went to Knockhill, it was soaking wet, miserable, half the race was under the saftey car during a downpoar, all the spectators cars got bogged down in the carpark mud and had to be towed out by tractors.
So I kept a very close eye on the weather forecast before deciding whether or not to go this time. But I'm so glad I did. What a geat day or racing. The BTCC action was fantastic. So many great moves, mostly clean, overtaking a plenty, the Vauxhall's didn't even get a podium :), Muller spun off :), Reidy won two races :).
MGs, Hondas, Seats and Vauxhalls all truly competitive. BTCC at it's best.
And I even got a sun tan to boot.
I watched the action again on TV tonight. I can't believe the cameras missed Reidy's move on Eaves at Taylor's to take the lead in race 3. It got by far the biggest cheer of the day from the crowd.

Echo that mocko, just joined this site and felt that I should respond. Knockhill was brill yesterday with Reidy capping a brilliant day by taking the last race. Just hope more locals get interested and come up to some of the smrc meets where the racing is just as keenly contested.
Hope Mr Gow and Mr Butcher can agree on terms to bring TOCA back to Fife

I watched Motors TV coverage last night and was amazed at all 3 races. It's was Touring Cars at it should always be, great action with hardly a fixed bumber or wing mirrow in sight, and no big accidents (excluding Thommos enormous shunt on Saturday). The camera angles were fantastic, especially the one pointing backwards on Reids roof.

This weekend was my first visit to Knockhill and what a weekend!
The racing was amazing, the weather was lovely and best of all Reidy won two!!! The Scots spectators seemed particularly pleased, and also with Shedden winning one of the Cupra races too.
Excellent - I'm definitely going back next year. Roll on Brands.

With out a doubt this was the greatest races I have ever seen. As the fog lifted the racing got better and better.
Why cant they all be like these races

Because WSR dont have the money to do it every weekend, and because their drivers have so many warnings now they dare not race for fear of loosing their licences!

it was a truly great day, after the mist lifted it even allowed Knockhill to show its scenic splendour. 3 Scottish winners on a row with Reidy, Paul and Gordon Shedden. Superb. Altogether great racing in all classes, I was at Duffus all day and it was a good vantage point apart from not seing Taylors, any chance of a big screen next year??
Minus points, the toilets are pretty basic, not playing Flower of Scotland for the Scottish winners it is our anthem and the clown that put roadworks just before the Kincardine bridge
Roll on next season
