Some people asked me a while ago if/when I would be racing next. I've now saved up enough to race at Silverstone this Sunday. If anyone is at the 750MC meeting please come and say hi, I'm the shy number 31 in the F4 race (probably trying to work out how to get the car to move without stalling it!).

A Reynard SF86. Not the best looking car on the grid, or the fastest (unless it rains!) A top 10 finish would be great.

Hi guys, I've finally been able to get back into the forum after some technical difficulties, so I thought I'd let you how i got on.
Everyone went out for qualifying as usual (on slicks), but a couple of laps in it started to rain. I've never been on track in the wet before so it was a totally new experience (with slicks it was very nerve wracking), and I certainly got the hang of controling oversteer! I was caught out at Woodcote though when I spun flat out in 3rd gear at around 115mph! That caused to session to be red flagged, but we all went out again after a few minutes in the pit lane. My qualifying was finally ended when I put the car in the gravel at Brooklands avoiding a spinner (who also owns the car I was driving!)
I was amazed to find I had qualified 8th just 1/10th away from 6th. In the race I made a poor start, and lost 2 places on lap 3, but managed to regain a place to 9th before the race was red flagged due a big crash at Maggots on lap 7. I won my class so will get a trophy, and had my name printed in autosport!
Great fun as I'm sure all you other racers will agree!:D

excellent result - sounds as if you are getting to grips with the car and this racing lark.
So what's next?

not bad...you learn the wet lines then? big difference in some corners to the dry lines at silverstone.
theres always one who spins out of woodcote in the wet...usually they end up sliding down the pitwall (had that happen in front of me once!)

the race was dry, and only 'bits' of qualifying were wet, i set my fastest time inbetween the showers - when it was wet i was too buisy just trying to keep the car on the track to learn any lines!
i cant afford to do the next round at Cadwel, but if i can scrape together the last of my summer earnings before i go back to uni i may be able to do Snetterton on the 9th October and with a good result take the C Class Championship.

Bramble ~ you are doing really well.
I hope you can get together the money to race at Snet. Let us know if you will be there.
