The Stig is Perry Mcarthy I think, as i've seen a picture with his arms folded and he looks exactly like the stig when his arms are folded! :cool: :rolleyes:
AnD Perry can do a French accent.

Yes well you may well be right! However, this is just the sort of thing that should be in the General Motorsport forum so that is where I have moved it to!!!

That was revealed in one of the tabloids about 3 weeks ago.

They gave his story, including selling his house, thus leaving his wife homeless, to compete in a race overseas!

What a man.....

May I recommend his book "Flat out flat broke" - if you like motorsport you'll find it hilarious!

So thats why it was kept a secret - no disrespect to Perry McCarthy but everyone was saying people like Damon Hill, one of the BTCC drivers or someone like that.

How many people said 'who?' when they read that! ;) Especially the younger ones I would think.

That's the book I was looking at, when I saw his arms crossed, and I said to myself - "He looks like the stig!" :o

He's a racing driver! :D

His F1 career lasted 18 metres and apart from that he's been in sportscars.

Hmmmm, IMHO I'm not so sure that The Stig is El Pel. He's an Essex man and his french accent is dubious to say the least.

My personal view is that The Stig is either Bruce Jouanny or Simon Pullan. Either that, or it has been several different people as I've noticed some minor differences between one programme and another.

However, I am sure of who The Stig is not:

1) Matt Neal - too tall
2) Kelvin Burt - too short
3) Jason Plato - wrong shape

Make of that what you will! :)

Reynard ~ I think you have a good point when you say that the Stig may be different people each time. I was thinking the same!
