from the CollardRacing website:

2003, new car, new start.

The car has been to 888 Race Engineering Ltd., where it has been back on it's manufacturing Jigs to have two new front chasis legs, a new rear floor and quarter panels. The car is now in mint condition. Work is beginning on the testing and the pit stop, with thought going into the livery.

Sponsors will be a key part of this seasons drive, the first being MacWarehouse, a computer company supplying Mac and PC products worldwide, with many other parties showing a keen interest.

CollardRacing is looking forward to the start of the new season in April.

Good luck to him, and an extra car on the grid! See it's coming together and someone on this forum was worrying cos it looks bleak, see things are coming together and there still 2 months to go!

I thought 888 only help them because of the state of the car at the final round of 2002

Looks nice and shiny!! Slightly straighter than last time I saw it anyway!! ;)

888 like most works teams will help out privateers from time to time. TD got a lot of help from Nissan. Remember Brookes at the final round of 97 when his Pug was all smashed up - MSD helped get it out for the feature race.

Presumably its in the manufacturer's interests to have competitive privateers - firstly indy cars can score manufacturers' points and also if the indy cup is won in one of your cars then it makes them more appealing - eg if Slight had won the indy cup last year then Vauxhall could claim to have won all the championships going (like Nissan did in 99).
