I just read that a new access road and toilet blocks are going to be built to help improve spectator access and facilities.

As a regular visitor to Snetterton as a marshal I have spent many evenings queing to get out, once the road and bridge are finished it should be a much easier place to get in and out of, hopefully it will all be done by August.

I would say it is better all ready what with the roundabout and single lane traffic. ;)

ah snetterton, what a good day in 02.

the summer sun on my shoulders and my feet sunburnt. falling asleep between the races and waking up as the cars line up for the next race.

its good news they are improving facilities, especially the access road.

Can't they make it a bit closer to the south? ( about 100 miles should do it.)

I'll second that Rob. Snetterton last year was pretty special. I'd not been before and on the Saturday I walked straight past Thommo and Muller but like a monkey I was too embarassed to say hello.:(

Sorry to put a damper on this but all thats happening is the "runway" to the ticket huts is being tarmaced from the new roundabout and a new toilet is being built outside russel. Thats it unfortunatly :(. Nice to see the runway is finaly being sorted and atleast if your caught short theres somewhere else to go ;)

I did notice yesterday that Octagon were spending £4m on their tracks. It mentioned Silverstone, Brands, Oulton and Cadwell, but not Snett.

It's not a bad place really. I've got a soft spot for Snett. But i think it could do with a better shower block and maybe some shaded areas.

Just set up some traffic lights when it comes to crossing the A11. ;)

Cleland Fan. It does cross the A11. The A11 runs beside it. It actualy runs inside where the Snetterton Market now stands.

You can tell Snetterton used to be an airfeild more when you look at that can't you?

I've never quite recovered from using a toilet there with no electricity and no running water, it wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't 2 am................................................ .....

Sounds like last year. Either you walk to the main ones in the paddock, or use the green caravan with no lights!

And these things never have any paper! And then u get the tank come to empty the sest pit every 15mins! u'd think they'd attach it 2 the sewer.

As a regular visitor to Snet (it and Rockingham are my two local circuits) any improvements would go down a treat... A permanent grandstand would be nice - I remember the old one at Russell being pretty rickety...

The usual experience of the place is soaking wet, freezing cold and up to your knees in mud - only twice have I been when it's not rained. Oh, and the traffic backed up on the A11 all the way to Mildenhall - that's typical too.

I'll be there over the Easter weekend photographing the F3's, and the above will likely be a reasonable description of the experience - but that won't detract from the character of the place.

However, I've got a real soft spot for Snet as I've had some good times there; BTCC night races, fooling around with Kelvin Burt and photographing some fantastic action! :)

There shouldn't be such a problem with getting in and out of the circuit this year cos there is a new bridge and it will be dual carriage way straight past it, no longer single lane. It's causing havoc at the moment cos it is just red road cones EVERYWHERE but it should be good once it is finnished!

lol those cones have been there so long they seem to be breading. Everytime you go down that stretch of road there are double the amount of cones. Atleast when its finsihed it should save time, and save lives.

The whole layout at the circuit entrance is different, + new ticket booths at the end of the long concrete road (hope this gets resurfaced)

When it comes to leaving the circiut traffic should disperse a lot lot faster with the new road layout. Sadly if it were not for the new road, I fear Snetterton would have had little money spent on it! :(

There was a grandstand at the 'bombhole' (try saying that in a Norfolk accent!!:D ) which was demolished when alterations to the run off area were made.

The dual carriageway was officially opened today.

The road up to the new ticket booths has also been resurfaced, but I have heard that it is quite complicated to get out of the circuit it's not as easy as turning left on to A11 anymore, it involves roundabout's and the bridge.

last time we were there turning left was fine - it was right that flumuxed the hubby.

Today the A11 was opened again - over 8000 cones were removed ;)

Well as long as it is actually easier to get into the circuit Les then that is all fine by me.

I will know where to come if Amanda's dad wants some cones now won't I!;)
