Do such things as yearbooks or published season reviews exist.
Seen hundreds of F1 and my son has an excellent 2002 WRC yearbook complete with colour photos and team/driver profiles etc. That's the sort of thing I'm looking for. Do you have to pay a bit using E-bay or will I need to spend hours in somewhere like Waterstones or Borders ?

There used to be but not any more. NOt sure when the last one was published - I can guarantee Amanda can tell us though! You can usually get old issues on merchandise stands at race meetings.

I have got 'Autosport Touring Car Year' books for 97 98 & 99. They are still available (saw 97s in our local book shop the other week). The 2000 book never materialised - rang up in 2000 and they said they weren't doing one - and havent seen one since. Its a shame because they are good.
Dont know if they exist for pre97 - have kept an eye out but never seen them.
Other than that theres the Touring car book by John Tipler but unless theres a new edition out its a bit old - the one I have is based around the 96 season.
Any others anyones got?

Well Ann - close, but you got me!
We have back to 1992, and as said above 2000 was publicised but never printed by Haynes (I believe it was).
Before anyone asks they aren't for sale!!!!
Did get a book called - Ford, The Touring Car Years at the weekend - very good.

Amanda seems a bit of a BTCC guru, perhaps I'll drop her a pm. Might be fun in between races to browse stalls at meetings. Can see the obvious appeal of video tape reviews, but pity you can't buy the books

Just dragged the books out:
Ford in Touring Car Racing (I was close) is good, lots of history and still available.
Touring Car Diary - re Williams and Alain Menu circa 1997.
Autocourse British Motorsport Year - I have 95/96 and 97/98 and there was one in between (96/97). General but alot of BTCC coverage.

If the old books have statistics in them as well then we might request your help for an experiment we're doing in this thread:
http://toca.forum-host.biz/showthread.php?s=&threadid=169
and ask for the pole times for Thruxton. Thank you!! :)

Thanks - no hurry. Just thought it'd be interesting to try and track the progress of development over the years!! See how much a million quid here and there knocks off the lap times!

Thought had occurred to me - two BTCC daft people in Ayesbury ? more than a fluke, won't bother with the pm now.
Kind Regards Alan, Stig

You both seem very well informed, must have been fans for quite some some and seen many drivers' achievements -
Who do you both think are some of the greats & why. Plus who are your all time favourites and who do you support.
Thanks:)

We are new on the block really Kestrel but have been going to BTCC since 1997.
Favourite drivers, there are many, most are really nice guys (and gals), but Jason and Robb Gravett stand out.
Favourite race, although we weren't actually there - Donington, 1998 I think when Nigel Mansell gave Cleland, Warwick etc a run for their money in the wet. Must go down as one of the real classic races.
Also - Matt Neal winning his first race, again at Donington (and Matt is a super guy).
There is alot more of course but got a train to catch.

I've got the review books from 1992, 1996, 1997, 1998 and 1999. Only the last one was bought when it came out, the rest are ones I've found on stalls. (got the 1992 one for £5 from a stand at the autosport show).

I'm here at last! I wouldn't say I am a BTCC guru but I have been following the series for sometime and have a good collection of yearbooks and review videos.
Feel free to drop me an PM or email.
