Touring Car Cup

Hi Alan,

I just wondered what your views are on the European Touring Car Cup that has been proposed for next season.

It's a good idea, although being at the end of the season (when most teams have used up all their budget) it may be difficult to get a full, quality field together.

As no drivers/teams from the WTCC can enter, then it will be left to entries from some national series (like the BTCC) and I would be doubtful if many would have the budget left to do it.

End of season events are historically difficult to stage. Even in the "big budget" 90's, with all the factory entries in the BTCC, we still struggled to get enough cars to compete in the TOCA Shoot-out for that same reason.

But I hope it will be successful.
