Hi Alan

Congrats on another excellent weekends racing at Brands.

I was just wandering though why the BTCC grid this year has used a staggered grid system rather than a one-by-one system. Is it just because the grid is smaller than in previous years, or is it because there might be less chance of accidents because the cars are more spread out? Is it TOCA that makes the decision or the respective circuit?

I personally think it affects the closeness of the racing because the cars are more spread out come the first corner.

Thanks for your help

Andy

A staggered grid helps reduce the chances of first corner accidents. I decided to do it this year, as we obviously really don't want to increase the risk of losing any more cars through first corner/lap incidents etc.

Yes, I make those decisions.
