Out of the Clio Cup and the Seat Cupra championship, which one do you prefer?
I prefer the Clios. The cars look nicer and the racing is better and all the cars are equal!

would admit to liking the Clios slightly more but the seat's have a great field this year. Clios do provide slightly more in the way of rubbing and us jocks have more drivers taking part, not to mention the 2005 champion Jonathan adam. (cue witty remark from rlee :p )

I like the Clios. They seem to produce better racing.
I just wish that they would run both races on a Sunday But alas Renault don't want them to.

I voted for the Clios (not just because I drive one!!) but the racing is always close and exciting, In my opinion the Seats have improved this season since the cars became privately run, the first two seasons were quite dull with some really bad driving, from some reasonably good drivers!!
I never managed to sit through one complete race, and the accompanying TV programme was a bit cringeworthy!!
this yaer i have watched all the races so far and there seems to be a field of decent drivers whose single aim is not to get on TV!!
Maybe the quality of the prizes made the competiton all the more frantic?
Richard.

I enjoy both - great scraps and some really good friends in there.

Porsches eh...
Well they never occured to me as it's not really saloon cars. I saw them on M-sport UK Sunday night/Monday morning. There aren't many of them are there?

Oh no question, it's got to be the Clios everytime. The one support race I always look forward to!

Even though I own a Cupra, I have to say the Clios!

I have to say i go for the SEATS everytime because i have never missed a round of the series since the championship started and it such a good championships. I think the Clios are good but they have had their cake and eaten it its time for SEAT to have a go. Ok the grids are not great but look at the quality and talent out on the grid with ex btcc drivers talented teenagers and enthusiastic amateurs. No disrespect to Renault I just think the seats offer a better package

I enjoy both equally... both have their own attractions.

I put the Clio's, its the most action packed of the whole weekend!
I wouldn't say that single seaters are dull or make you dull though.

seats were a tad tame this weekend but the clios had a good clean first race and the second one saw some action esp around Clervaux - need to see that on the box.

On that note, has anyone else noticed that the Cupra's have been a tad tame for most of the year actually! Possibly due to the cars being run by individual teams this year so a larger eye is on costs whereas last year and the one before you paid your wegde to SEAT and drove the guts out of it all year basically.

I think part of the problem with the SEAT's this year is that only one top driver from last year returned, Tom Boardman. All the other guys who Boardman was dicing with have either moved on or disappeared...
This inherently causes a problem with the championship as the "new" guys will need time to catch up, leaving Tom with a relatively easy ride. This isn't to take anything away from him, but it's a simple fact. Even in the SEAT's last year, although a few of the "new" (notably Wilkinson and Boardman) guys were there or there abouts at the start of the season, it wasn't until the second half of the year that we saw the "new" boys really stamp their authority on the championship.
I bet that the SEAT's would have produced more exciting racing this year so far if we had Sheddon, Wilkinson, Carter, Chagas etc back racing. The first race where Tom just romped away would have been much more interesting IMO!
The Clio's on the otherhand has the opposite problem :D

I don't think Tom believes it is an easy ride. Maybe the first round, maybe even the second but he is now being outqualified and is having to race hard.
But Tom is a brilliant driver and is still racking up the points. Luckily it is Matt Jackson who is taking the wins rather than the championship rivals.
but there is still quite a way to go

No i din't mean that one guy was running off into the distance making it a tad dull, thats fine if the racing behind him is good, i meant the racing throughout the whole field is kind of stagnant! Yes probably due to lack of more than two or three top line names, but more than likeley due to not wanting to bend the car as it will need to be paid for, whereas last year it was more akin to "pay up front" and we'll sort it out!

it might also be that we have less kiddies out there and more ex-touring car drivers and the like and they know that every finish in the points may make a difference. They certainly don't want their whole weekend to finish at the first corner in the first race.
Mind you I have to say this weekends races were rather processional - not that I am minding as Tom was at the front or there abouts.
