He might fall through the podium :D Seriously, its great to see another car out their, and especially Jason, he's one of the friendliest drivers in the paddock from my experience.

I certainly hope he can make it back, he may be off the pace of the top guns with outdated machinery, but its another to swell the ranks wich is good and may also give us a slightly better back end scrap between himself, the lexi' and Proctor! With the Alfa heading for Croft, and the bio-eth Astra due too, this is all good news in the current "bleak" situation our sport is in.

How does the saying "Eat your words" sound to you. Pity you can't be more encouraging

It was just a harmless joke about his size in comparison to most other drivers.
I am fan of Jason, and think that he should do a good job at Mondello.

does anyone know 'why' he isnt doing the full season?
Casper
15th Jul 2005, 02:10 PM
I would venture to say that the reason he isn't doing the whole season, is purely the lack of a major sponsor.
jason dug deep into his own pocket last year, in order to do the whole season, but no money pot is bottomless!
So anyone who knows of 1/2 a million quid lurking around needing a home , get in touch, and next year will see a Hughes car out for the whole season.
Money is very tight everywhere just now.

Thing is that money would be much better invested elsewhere, harsh maybe, but ultimately true.

Why?? Jason is as likely to attract as much publicity as anyone else, with the increased TV coverage I think it would be good value for money, Jason tries as hard as anyone else out there, and if last year was anything to go by is very popular with many MG fans
Good luck Jason, hopefully you will be able to do at least one other round later in the year.

because, if going by last year's form, he will be near the back.
Why put big money into a smaller team if it won't be aired as much as a bigger team.
Look at Sureterm, got fed up with getting so little coverage with GA last year and went to MG and probably got as much coverage with them in two meetings as they did all season with GA.

Not the case today, a really good mid field showing from Jason beating works cars and consistantly scoring points in all three races, also some clean drives, not bad for a man coming in half way through the season.

I think Dudley has the inside track on any news of Jason.
IMHO Jason drove better yesterday than at any time last year. If he can reproduce it at Knockhill it would be great. He is a gentleman and a thoroughly good bloke. Spoke to him often last year and gave him a gentle ribbing which he took in good grace. His team are very friendly too so it would be an asset to the paddock if they are there.
Of course, having another MG on the track is just a bonus but it did seem to inspire Rob Collard to greater things.
