Erm, forgive my n00bish question but what has happened to James Thompson?
Last time i really took an interest (as in going to meets), the Audi's were running & Thompson was in a Honda!
I assume JT has moved on, WTCC maybe?

Any chance of him returning anytime soon?

Was Thommo at Croft? If not there was a very good lookie-likey wandering around. If he was its a shame he didn't come in his company car with his Italian mates - now that would have been a sight!!

Yeah, not sure when Audi dropped out but, if it helps confirm the year, it was the first meeting back at Croft after a long absence!
Heres what i remember of the cars/driver line ups;
Honda - Thompson
Honda - Tarquini?
Audi - Muller
Audi - ??
Nissan - Reid
Nissan - Neal?
Volvo - Rydell
Volvo - ??
Peugeot - Burt
Peugeot - Harvey
Renault - Plato
Renault - Menu
Vauxhall - Cleland
Vauxhall - Soper?
Ford - Radisiche
Ford - Mansell?

I think there may have been a couple of privateers aswell?
What i do remember is, Thompson had a major off somewhere in the complex in the third race, which brought out the red flags & an early finish :(

This was definately the pinnacle of the BTCC for me, hopefully it will be that good again, it definately seems to be heading in the right direction!

What really does bother me, is the lack of TV coverage? Its only since the launch of MotorsTV that ive caught any of the action!
The BTCC used to be covered on Grandstand, but i assume that has gone by-the-by with a deal on ITVsport?

Oh boy, Dannyboy! You really are out of touch. The BTCC this year is enjoying its biggest telly deal ever. ITV1 is showing all ten race meetings with live coverage from seven of them - Mondello Park yesterday got two hours straight after the German GP.

BBC Grandstand stopped showing BTCC in 2001. ITV took over in 2002.
