To Brum or not to Brum

Hi Alan,

I heard rumours a while back about the BTCC returing to the Birmingham street circuit which they used to race on in the 80s,

As this would be a fantastic spectacle, is there any realistic chance of this happening in the future with regards to costs and councils and other complicated politics?

I'm sure the audience turnout would be huge.

That's all they are....just rumours.

There are no realistic plans for Birmingham to stage another street race, that I am aware of.

Every year, another rumour starts about another street race in another city and every year they prove to be false.

Funding it is the major stumbling block; it would cost a city at the very least £3m+ to do it.
