What are peoples views here on Stock Cars, i'm talking NASCAR to bangers here. Personally I quite enjoy it, but it depends on the type of track they run. NASCAR is great on the superspeedways and short tracks, but the 1.5 mile tracks aint too great. Banger racing and all that sort of dirt track racing is very rough, and great fun to watch, but a bit too unsophisticated...

i love NASCAR. its excellent me and my dad are hoping to go to America next year and watch it. I'm not too keen on Banger racing. Its not my thing, im more into speed and stuff, not whacking each other. But if your looking for a good night out Banger racing is a good laugh. Its good. just not my thing

now stockcars range from bangers to proper stockcars which if u want the speed an the power you can watch f1 f2 or v8 hotstoxs which are fairly simalair in design, they just range from diffrent size of engine and from f1s the spec of the car changes in size. ppl who have never really watched stockcar racing will think that is must be just cars smashin into 1 another which it isnt, yes if you go watch a banger meetin then yes you are goner be watchin cars hitin 1another left right n centre coz that is what the main aim of bangers is n they are built from scrap cars, you'll love them if you like watchin nice cars gettin wrecked n watchin some really hard racin n there's some really nice paint work n time gone into gettin them out after each race. f1 stockcars on the other hand are there for close fast racing with contact the build of an f1 stockcar are custom build they are powered by large v8 engine. These cars are built for contact, hence the sturdy front and rear bumpers and side nerf rails. so if you want good fast racin with big cars small tracks then go watch stockcar racing theres always a good atmosphere an always a laugh. here is a link to a sit that has video clips of the powerful f1 stockcars in action soz for the big rant lol, n if the picture comes up that is a f1 stockcar

My first taste of live motorsport action was stock cars at Armadale Stadium. Unfortunately the stock car business was sold off when I was about 8 years old and the track was eventually ripped up to make way for the Edinburgh Monarchs speedway team. :(

Used to be great for atmosphere on a Sunday afternoon though, packed stands and a big racecard on.

All good fun - try to get to a couple of meetings a year, generally friendly, good racing, big grids etc. Needs to be experienced I think though I can appreciate it may not be to everyones taste. Must not forget that several top racers came up through this route, Derek Warwick and Rob Collard I believe to name but two.

Not very keen on the more "banger" end of the range I must admit, but you have to take these things in the spirit they are intended.

Reminds me to try and get to a hill climb sometime!!!! :)

I love Stock car racing on the long ovals ( 0.5 miles upwards) Of course we have US style Stock Car racing here in the UK with the SCSA and SCSA Pick Ups. I have been to a NASCAR meeting in Las Vegas and it knocked everything in European motorsport out of a cocked hat and in and out again. The drivers were accessible when they weren't in their cars. They even went to their merchandising stands in the trade village to sign autographs. The NASCAR experience is second to none. 43 V8 Stock Cars racing at tracks like Bristol (there is a five year waiting list for tickets for both Bristol races for Nextel Cup), Martinsville, Richmond, Darlington, Las Vegas, Texas and Daytona is the greatest spectacle in all of sports. After 400 miles of hard racing the first 2 can be seperated by 0.002 sec like Darlington Spring race in 2003.

NASCAR is the best motorsport on Earth and the most popular.

been to Cowdenbeath Racewall a few times and good family racing, yes the bangers are just crazy but the F2's are good. Thing i really enjoy is the ministox where you have kids aged between 10 and 16 giving it their all at 50mph.

Anyone at Knockhill for the weekend there is a meeting at Cowdenbeath on the saturday night, good way to spend the evening and it is only a 15 minute drive from Knockhill
