Hi Everyone,

My first post on this forum!! I have a ticket for Silverstone next month, which has a roving seat. Does anyone know which grandstands are usually open at the circuit to sit on race day, this will be my first trip to a BTCC round, so I just want to work out the best place to sit?

I have sat in Luffield for the F1 before and really liked that so may try that again if it is open.

Cheers
Ben

Luffield is as good as any place to watch along with Copse Corner and Bridge Enclosure, however I myself also like to watch each race from a different spot.

there won't be that many grandstands actually open - Woodcote A + B are usually and the pitstraight is sometimes open but may be reserved for team guests.

How many spectators usually turn out?

Thanks for all the help everyone, I'm only attending on race day, as I have to travel from the Isle of Man!! I think woodcote sounds good, have always liked sitting in there too.

Are there loads of Merchandise stalls too? I want to get a Team Dynamics cap :)

If you sit in the right place in Woodcote you can see down the club straight, then around luffield and then down the pit straight. I would definately say Woodcote because you can see about 60% of the track. It's the National Track this year so they will be coming around once every minute.

McKay is right, Ben. Woodcote this year is the place to be. The BTCC will be racing on the short National circuit so a view from the stands looking right up the Club straight as the cars appear head on over the brow into Brooklands and then Luffied and past you through Woodcote/down the pits straight is going to make an awesome sight.

Agreed. :) It was a decent spot last year with the cars appearing into view from Bridge, but it'll be even better this year as you'll see the cars come down the National straight also.
