Whilst this would be a great title for an album,I want 2.5% royalties, its that symptom of realising we now enter Winter.
With only a DVD review of the year release and the silly season of misinformation and anticpation of what next year beholds.
Had that same empty gut feeling leaving the circuit last night.
Probably more to do with the fact that me & Mrs R didn't go to a preseason party for the first year in many.
This year has really set the benchmark.TD has given notice that its possible to come out with a new model and win,the argument re was it truely a new car put to one side, any new model has to come out of the box race ready. Its no longer acceptable to rationalise having a years bedding in.
My suspicion is that this Winter Spain & France will be awash with the sound of Tourer testing.
The championship has taken on Premiership football type level requirements. The bar has been raised. To win you can't afford any DNFs.Does this give notice to all drivers that risk taking is more measured, that that gap might not be quite big enough to get through without taking a puncture or steering arm break.
Hopefully we'll see less stupid penalties and endorsements next year and more proper racing.
Nods must go to everyone involved this year, the BTCC organisers themselves, who suffered stick at the beginning of the year.
Everyone who was there at Donnington won't have to be reminded of the morgue like atmosphere in the pits.
As three men and a dog,I was one of those men, stood on a rainlashed Hollywood on that first Saturday?
What a turnaround, what went so right
Well starting from the top,Mr Gow put himself on the web, opened up to questions. The series put itself on ITV.The series took itself to the masses,Gateshead,Forth Bridge & Milton Keynes. The series held a successful workshop to attract new teams for next year.
The points system & drivers combined to take it down to the wire.
And the circuits, well God bless Johnathon Palmer. The progress in 12 months has been phenomenal.I actually look forward to going just to see what improvements have been made to the circuits.
And the coverage in the papers this morning was testament to the appeal of the sport.Time to keep that momentum going guys & girls. Vauxhall have made that statement in their advert this morning, they're going for six in a row.
So regards to all those nursing hangovers this morning, the biggest undoubtably belonging to Mr M Neal.
I hope that the place was drunk dry,Dunlop put on the usual host with the most festivities and at least one driver ended up naked showered in warm beer.
