Toca Race Driver for the playstation 2 included the BTCC cars from a couple of seasons ago. There was also Toca Touring Cars and it's sequel (one of the best racing games made) which was the whole BTCC season back when we had the white nissan primera's and peugeots!

I play Race Driver 2 on PC all the time, we've got a racing team and everything :) the sequel is out in february but sadly doesn't feature the BTCC :( Codemasters (who I believe own the rights to the BTCC) won't make another game featuring them for some reason :mad:

Quite right!!! Isn't it funny that the most fun cars to race on line are the Leon's and they aren't even on terms with BTCC from marketing point of view.

I think ted ment the awful game Codemasters made a year after Toca2. Had awful handling and made up teams and drivers. :rolleyes:

Yeh ToCA World was just slightly bad! Incredibly bad. Words cannot describe it.

We just got together ourselves and made a racing clan, made a website and everything, I don't know what the admin thinks about linking to external websites so I won't link it here :) if anyone is interested I can just send it in a PM.

Basically we just race for fun, but we have our own mini leagues and we fight against other racing clans all in good faith.

Hopefully Race Driver 3 will give this even greater scope (and I just redesigned our website ready for it!)

note: oh and yes we only play on the PC version, with steering wheels :D

awful??? no way. i know its a shame that there are no real names or teams but the racing is good! not all the cars had bad handling, some later cars unlocked are ok. if anyone trys it out, you can find it for 6or7 quid in game. if you dont agree with it, just take it back! :) in some ways i prefere this then race driver but that my opinion

ahh but have you played Race Driver 2 using a steering wheel and peddle set up? :) There's something quite amazing about taking the old hairpin at donington in a seat leon doing 120mph hehe

I always liked the hairpin at Oulton at the bottom of the hill, until you get it wrong & end up on Chester high street. :D

I totally agree, toca 2 was by far the best toca game with the no kick out cheat. The other drivers actually matched your pace and it was a genuine challenge. Handling was fantastic

i take part in various offline toca championships which are good fun

ive done the old hairpin in a dtm car on trd2 at 140mph !!

I'm not sure they should even spend time improving the graphics that much I'd be perfectly happy with just a re-release that took them about 2wks to make with no increased graphics but with a 2005 setup

Exactly, I bet that would be popular. The same game with updated cars, tracks drivers etc. would be perfect

you can improve the graphics(a little bit) by going to the ps2 home settings(not sure what menu its under cos my ps2 at home)and called texture mapping (i think). all it does, is make the cars logos clearer and improve the background. dont turn on disc speed setting because sometimes it crashes! (happened on last lap of croft) plus has anyone notice why the cars allways go really wide at crofts last hairpin or is my disc dodgy??? :)
