View Full Version : Lack of activity

Has anyone else noticed a lack of activity in the forums over last couple of weeks?
I'd hate to speculate but I think its because all we are allowed to discuss is BTCC. Being off season, there is a certain sparsity of relevant goings on.

Well - as you say it is the off season for BTCC but things will soon pick up I expect.
Of course you can also discuss gerneral motorsport and the support races not just BTCC, and there is plenty going on generally (WRC, F1 in two weeks).
I don't really see the problem - this is after all a motorsport forum.

Hehehehehe - the same complaint is being bandied around on the official ASCAR forum! :) Things have gone suspiciously quiet on the ASCAR front as well, but then again it is that quiet time of year. Give it a couple of weeks and I can guarantee you that all hell will break loose. That's always the way...
As Alan says, there's always the general motorsport discussion to contribute to, and there are topics aplenty! :)
We've got a good photography thread going, a debate about ASCAR and a nice discussion about the future of and appeal of F3 in the UK as well as general stuff about F1, rallying, club racing and peoples experiences about working within motorsport.

Yeah I have noticed that too - I might have to have a discussion with myself at this rate (in the Murray meets Murray style!!)
So John what do you think of Proton's chances this year?
Well John I think....... nah thats too sad!! ;)

I think all motorsport forums are quiet at the moment and I am sure that will change when the season gets going.
This is a motorsport forum after all! We can also discuss the support races and general motorsport. I for one prefer it like this and am glad to see there have been no more pointless threads and lots of replies consisting of just one word and a smiley!
The start of the new racing season won't be here quick enough for me!

Just kidding Amanda!! ;)
Totally agree - there appears to have been a good selection of topics with people saying a lot of things in their replies which I think is great. Hopefully this standard will continue once the season is underway!

So do I! :)
I've been trying to share the wisdom (!) accumulated in nearly 20 years of watching motorsports of all kinds from F1 through to clubbies and I'm sincerely hoping that the good quality discussion will continue. It really makes a difference when people have something interesting or thought-provoking to say and as far as I am concerned, nothing beats a damn good debate.
I'm also more than willing to help out if anyone has any issues about motor racing photography. Like I said earlier, we've got a good photography thread going in the general forum so please ask away if you need tips on techniques and/or equipment and feel free to attach your own photos if you'd like some critique.

Well I suppose it does make for a more civilised community. Maybe it's the fact I can't be arsed to sign up to loads of different forems to discuss 101 different things that I get cheesed off. Yeah that'll do, I'm just plain lazy!:o

John ~ I agree there has been a good selection of topics discussed recently. The standard of posts have been much higher recently and like you I hope this continues once the season gets underway.

Having been a forum addict for the last 2 or 3 years I have to say it is pretty normal for it to be quiet this time of the year.
You just wait - as soon as the list of cars and drivers is out and a few pictures of wings and spoilers and we will be discussing the merits of green and black over red and white and visa versa.

As everyone has said its always quiet around this time of year - once we get track action under way everywhere then it will get crazy! All other serious forums are the same - its only the threads of mindless drivel that are busy right now!
And hey, I'll take quality over quantity every time! :D

For the umpteenth time well said Ann. This is my first and only online forum and whilst I don't take part every day, I always check who is offering what by way of opinion. Where I feel able to take part I will do. Tend to agree, seems pointless taking part
for the sake of it. Even just reading peoples contributions you can learn a considerable amount. Would rather not bother than offer an inane observation about nothing particular. Hope people are entertained or stimulated by my offerings, however contentious.
With the quality of participant so far, expect it will be hard to get a word in edgeways once the seasons starts proper. Thank heavens for the WRC, and F1 shortly, in the meantime.
