Our next event in the rally car is the South Downs Stages at Goodwood on 4th Feb. The Fiesta has had new brake discs fitted since Rockingham and is now ready to go. Brian and I are really looking forward to the event as it was great fun last year.

Entry to the circuit is free to spectators so come along and support us! :D

Thank you for your support guys!

Goodwood is a great venue and I am really looking forward to the rally. I am sure Brian doesn't really need me for this one as he instructs at Goodwood! I can just go along for the ride! :p

The entry list is increasing every day so that is good news.

I will let you all know how we are getting on and will write a rally report afterwards.

Is that Lucky 17?

Amanda

I hope it is lucky for us!

I have just checked the seeded entry list again and there is no 6 or 13 so we are the 15th entry on the list. That has to be a good sign as my Puma has 15 on the number plate! :)

So Amanda, how did it go?

Sorry for the delay, things have been hectic since Goodwood! We had a fantastic day at a lovely venue. We finished 14th and were very pleased with that result. Our car is very under-powered compared to a lot of them out there. This is a very well run event and we are looking forward to rallying at Goodwood again in 2007!

Well done Amanda.

Good result, so is it like second nature to you now? Co-driving that is.
glad to hear you enjoyed yourself too.

Hope to see you around abit more this year.

Thanks guys! I have to say that I couldn't do it without the great help and support from our service crew and friends.

As for WRC, that is a nice thought but I am not sure about all those trees that might jump out! :p

Why not do some of the stages in some of the great rallies over here in either N Ire or the republic?

Amanda

I don't think our budget would stretch to putting the rally car on a ferry to Ireland! Plus all the costs associated with getting ourselves and the service crew there. We will have to stick to UK rallies for the time being.

William_E, you keep plugging everything Ireland & I have no problem with that, but as Amanda said, peoples budgets are the main stopper here. Im sure if it weren't for the ferry ride, more people would attend Mondello.
Its just an obsevation, nothing more, so dont take offence.:)

Dannybo ~ I thought spectating at every round of the BTCC was expensive until I started co-driving!

I can imagine Amanda, running a go-kart is expensive at times, but we both know its worth it, right!?:D

Me & the Mrs want to come over for Mondello, probably Fri, Sat & Sunday, are their any good hotels nearby?
I must see if I can hire a SEAT for the weekend aswell!:D

Amanda, not just the trees watch out for foxes with a death wish, was coming over a B road the other night having a bit of fun in my new almera when this fox just stood in the middle of the road. Proved the ABS worked:p then the little beggar just strolled away cool as you like:cool:

good luck with the rallying, did a bit of spannering in my younger days, great fun in the scottish rain working until all hours trying to fix the cars after meeting those infamous trees. Great things a slegehammer, gaffer tape and cable ties.

take care :)

Getting back to the subject of this thread!

Reidy Fan ~ I know who to call if we need more service crew! :D

Dannybo ~ Rallying is worth every penny, there is nothing quite like being out there in the car and actually taking part. I will forgive you for hi-jacking the thread ~ this time!:p

12lb sledge hammer, gaffer tape and cable ties on standby:D also a 6" shifter just incase and nuts/bolts need worked on:p

know what you mean about the budget bit as myself and a mate were considering doing stock car racing this year but the projected costs were frightening, that was even though we had the trailer and service van. So we just decided to follow the BTCC instead;)
