Yes, I do intend to make the ìWho, what, where & whenî a regular feature on the BTCC forum, providing there is interest in matching my twisted lines of thought. ItÃ*s all meant to be a bit if fun after all! ;)
The basic theme will revolve around the DRIVERS that have competed in the series between 1988 and the present day, so not only will it test your knowledge of touring cars, but also of UK racing in general as well as the drivers and their careers outside of touring cars.
The answers for Teaser 1 are as follows:
WHO: Kelvin Burt
WHAT: 2.0 BMW M3 / Prodrive
WHERE: Oulton Park
WHEN: 1990
Congrats to John for being the first person to solve the mystery!
A lot of you were pretty close, as the car was actually shared by Kelvin Burt, Kurt Luby and Tim Sugden as part of the BMW junior scholarship. The main clue however, was that Frank Sytner in the other BMW is BEHIND the scholarship car (#56 & red flashes) ñ in this particular race, Kelvin set class pole, won his class and set a new class lap record as well as finishing 5th overall.
This next one is a fair bit trickier, but the clues are all there if you know where to look. It requires a little bit of knowledge of recent UK racing outside of the BTCC, and whoever gets this one right will gain my utmost respect. Remember ñ I will need those four pieces of information from you:
WHO: driver name
WHAT: the car and the team involved
WHERE: circuit at which the action took place
WHEN: the year the action took place
So hereÃ*s the next little teaser ñ good luck!
