Just a couple of questions to tease your mind

1. Who was the last person to win 4 BTCC races in a row and when was it?

2. Who was the last person to win 2 BTCC titles in a row?

1: Alain Menu (Renault Laguna) - first 4 races of 1997
2: Chris Hodgetts (Toyota Corolla) 1986-1987

(i cheated for 2, i have the Touring Cars book that i got years ago, and i was born in 1988 ;) but the first question i got from memory:D )

At this moment I couldn't tell you the answer, unless it is as far back as Traquini 1994. It wasnt Menu in 1997 because Biela got an early win at a wet Thruxton

Biela did win at Thruxton - but that was round 5, Menu having won rounds 1 and 2 at Donington and 3 and 4 at Silverstone.

I don't know of anyone winning four in a row since then, although 3 has been done on a few occasions.

Chris H was the last person to win back to back.

I believe it was John Cleland in 1995. He won round 12 at Brands, Went on to win both rounds 13 and 14 at Donington, and finally won the round 15 the British GP support race at silverstone. Thats the only 4 in a row I remember, but i'm more than happy to be proved wrong!

He certainly did Mike - but I have the Touring Car Books for the relevant years and Menu's performance is also recorded there - so he was the last I know of.

Unfortunately the year books were not printed after the 1999 season so I have no written record after that!!! Pity - maybe someone should look at producing then again now the series is becoming more popular again (isn't it?).

I am pretty sure the last person to win 4 in a row was Alain Menu in those first 4 races in 1997. Aiello came very close to doing it in 1999 (after winning both races at Thruxton and the Feature Race at Brands), but Mr. Muller beat him in the Sprint Race. If he had won that Sprint Race, he'd have won £250,000.
