Everyone: this to confirm that we're very close to launching a brand new btcc.net website.
The new site is currently under construction and will have a completely fresh look and feel about it.
It is scheduled to go live in the next fortnight in plenty of time for the BTCC's opening round at Brands Hatch on 9 April.
We're very excited by what's in store, but we can't give away too much - that'd be spoiling the surprise!
Cheers

I am able to view the new btcc.net on Mozilla, but not Internet Explorer, which is weird but not to worry for time being.
Anyway....thoughts and opinions...
Positives
I like the overall layout of the new site, and the interactive buttons are excellent, along with the start-up videos.
There looks as if there will be plenty of content, and lots of new features which will be very interesting in checking back on the season as we go on. Everything looks as if it will be easy to navigate.
The forums look pretty good still, and its good to see the grey has been toned down so that the black text is readable, and also the green is more bearable on these pages.
Negatives / Possible Improvements
Tone down the Green, or lose it altogether, - it looks as if 'Greenflag' have had an influence on it, and maybe would have been good if they were still sponsoring the championship. Maybe a yellow and black would be more appropriate for Dunlop?? Or stick to the traditional Blue would suit more??
The upcoming round should be moved to the top above all the news, and the standings and facts should be a lot smaller.
The news articles should say more in the titles, and spread across the screen more, rather than a huge picture, and only a few words. Plus when we have more than 3 news articles will be difficult to keep up.
These are my initial thoughts on the new look site, as i think it is important to make a good first impression to new fans especially. It is the current fans who are making these comments.

There are some glaring errors with regard to the corner names of several circuits in the track guides.
Brands Hatch:
Clearways not Cleanways
Oulton Park:
Warwick Bridge not Warwich Bridge
Deer Leap not Deer Leep
Knockhill:
Scotsman Corner not Scotman (Sponsored by The Scotsman newspaper)
Silverstone:
Copse corner not Cope
There may be others on circuits I'm not familiar with.
PS
Can the Green be toned down a little?

NOW I AM GETTING REALLY HACKED OFF WITH THIS NEW LOOK SIT, WHEN I SIGNED IN EARLIER IN THE EVENING IT WAS OK, NOW ITS TELLING ME MY LOG IN DETAILS ARE INCORRECT, SO I HAVE RE REGISTERED WHEN PROMPTED UNDER 'FANS' USED MY NEW LOGIN AND GOT STRAIGHT IN, HOWEVER WHEN I NEED TO GO ON THE FORUM ITS AGAIN TELLING ME MY LOGIN IS INCORRECT, SO WHEN I USE MY OLD LOGIN ITS ALLOWING ME IN....FOR GODS SAKE SORT IT OUT, OTHERWISE BTCC PAGES HERE I COME, MUCH EASIER LESS COMPLICATED AND MUCH QUICKER.
TAKE THIS FEEDBACK AS A OPPORTUNITY TO PUT IT RIGHT, AND AS REGARDS FOR THE MISTAKES ON THE CIRCUIT DETAILS, YOU SHOULD BE HANGING YOUR WEB DEVELOPER, OR THE CLEANER WHO PUT IT TOGETHER, ITS NOT GOOD AT ALL.

I like the site, it's new so it takes a little time to adjust to it. Has and will have all the relative information avalible on it.
It will be nice to finally have a BTCC web-site which is fully maintained with plenty of information.
Although BTCC Pages is updated, a lot of the information, old picture archive etc is either broken linked or very very out of date.

do you have to sign in twice, I am still finding that I need to sign in originally and then when i go to the forum i need to sign in again only with a different password, so I thought start again only when I do I cant as it tells me someone else (me) has the same e-mail address and passwords...will someone please come back to me?

Keep the comments coming folks, especially the constructive ones (as most are).
I am sure there are some techies sorting the problems and noting your comments on the colour scheme!

To the Mods
I'd like to maintain my forum username and password across the whole of the BTCC website.
Can someone PM me explaining how I can do this, as having different logins for the same site defies logic.
Thanx.

I dont see why this is an issue, btcc.net & the forum are two different sites at the moment. When you are prompted for a username & password for the new homepage, there is nothing restricting you using the same details as you use for the forum!
Wheres the problem?

I have a seperate favorites link for the forum - seems to log me in automatically. I only occassionally go on the home site - just for news.
It's just annoying that it has different rules - won't allow Les as a username!

Same here I only go on the Homepages rarely to see if anything new has been added, I just normally follow a link of my computer straight to the Forum

the problem was earlier in the week obviously prior to further development it was prompting you to sign in again and when you were using your original sign it it was nort recognising you and advising that the username was already in use by some other member.
I have entry to enough sites and having to use at that time two differenet passwords etc was crazy, but now it has allowed me to have the same.
Personally I think the site is not as good with all the different links i.e got to forum which brings another box up asking you to click to go to forim (but I just did!!), front page is cluttered and messy IMHO only I may get youst to it, but there are easier options.
Anyway continued good luck with the re- developmet Its still in the early stages I know, but why one week prior to kick of is it being changed, bad planning I dont know waiting for the end result.

Can I ask when the site is going to be finished. ie. the History section. And also the gallaery. It only diplays 2006,2005 and 2 photos from 2004, yet has a massive choice in the scroll down menu right back to the 1950s

Yeah it will be great if you could add pictures in the gallery of the 1996 - 2000 season pictures as they were my favourite seasons and its well hard to find any good pictures of those years, be very grateful if you could
Cheers!;)

The history section is now up and running. It has some great features on it such as the standings of championship points ever since 1958.

Can we a timetable for future races, plz!

I know what you mean, it would be a great help if they could put a section on the website that tells you the timetable schedule for each race.

There is a timetable for each round already! (Including this weekend.) Go to the calendar section, then circuits, then click on the link that says timetable Pdf (its on the right side of the section next to the small circuit pictures.)
