View Full Version : Another quiz - numbers this time.

To fill in the time before the season starts here's another puzzler for you to try. No pics this time but what you have to do is to use the numbers that drivers had between 1996 and 2002 inclusive to fill in as many slots between number 0 and number 99. Just to make it a bit more difficult you cannot use the same driver more than once.

For example Matt Neal would have to be #0 as no one else has had that number between 96 and 02, therefore you cannot have Matt Neal as number 77 - get the idea?

So I'm looking for a list of numbers from 0-99 with a driver's name and the year they had that number. I have managed to do it with 30 gaps so far, so if anyone can beat that you win a prize. (A 2000 Ford Team Mondeo Car Sticker!)

Good luck!!

Sounds quite intriguing - something to keep me busy! :) Do you want the car as well?

If you want - should be pretty obvious though if you've given the driver and year - but might get bonus marks in a tie break!

Maybe I'm just very sad... I have 65 so far and now it's starting to get a little bit harder. ;)

I know there's still a few more, but there's a few instances of one driver having two or more of some of the obscure race numbers, and as I can't use them twice...

I've given up - 73 is the number to beat guys!!

My head's doing me in... I've got 67 now, but I have the problem where some of the more obscure numbers have been used by the same driver.... URK!

Might have to try a slightly different approach to the problem. Thing is, some guys like Plato have had the same number more than once, which adds to the problem.

I must be so damn sad to even attempt this :) But I think I need to go get some chocolate before I continue...

I'm stuck on 68

Don't think I can go any further with this lot with the info I have here.... Been working on the basis of far too many photos.

I still have quite a few drivers left over though, including Anthony Reid, Yvan Muller, Alain Menu, Patrick Watts and Peter Kox...

You dont have to use every driver, some will not be needed - eg Tom Boardman and Tom Kristensen only had number 77 so you need to pick one of them (or someone completely different if you want!)

And of course you can use Class B / Production cars as well

No more takers then? Gonna make Friday the deadline and Reynard's going to win at the moment, so get thinking cos she wins everything!! ;) :)

- you can't just say 73 - I want to see all 73 names!!!

John

Names appear on Friday - or you could copy them!! ;) Not that I'm suggesting you would of course!! :)

Right its Friday. I've had an Email from Reynard who has 69 names, I am declaring 70 (or 71 or 72 depending on the rule!).

So it looks like my stash of Ford Mondeo Racing stickers is safe for the moment! ;)

Here's my list - apart from a small confusion regarding Simon Graves which may need to be ironed out and the fact that I'd pinned Steve Sutcliffe (but not his number), all the others are drivers who have actually raced or practiced.
