Any ideas who is driving in it this year???
I know there are 2 TVR drivers in it and a couple moving up from Porsche cup.

There was also rumours Vic Lee was running some and Barwell?

I also know that the top 4 at the half way stage support the Silverstone GP!!!!!!!!!!

I think your two rumours are one and the same - Vic is running the two Britnell brothers ex of TVRs.

Barwell will be running 2 cars:

One car will be campaigned for the bulk of the season by Barwell MotorsportÃ*s MD, Mark Lemmer, with former Porsche Cars GB factory Group C sportscar driver, Tiff Needell, also likely to make some appearances in this car during the season. Whilst this car will focus on trying to secure individual race wins, the other car will feature a top driver who will be gunning for the overall championship title, and Barwell is currently in discussion with several likely candidates. All interested parties are invited to contact either Mark or Chris Needell at Barwell regarding this potential championship-winning drive.

So it is not released that my friend is in the Porsches - a lovely pink Porsche to be watched at all 10 rounds.

from the Barwell site

BARWELL SIGNS PINKNEY FOR PORSCHE CARRERA CUP

Barwell Motorsport has signed former Vauxhall Vectra Challenge Champion, David Pinkney, to spearhead its challenge in the new Porsche Carrera Cup. The team took delivery of PinkneyÃ*s GT3 Cup car last Wednesday and completed a successful test at Snetterton on Friday and Saturday.

Although the team has been involved with Porsche race and rally car preparation before (including the fabulous Gulf 917), this marks the first foray into Porsche one-make racing for both Barwell and Pinkney. It is also the first time that driver and team have both been on the same ësideÃ*, having previously fought against each other for many years during the 1990s in both the VW Vento VR6 and Vectra SRi V6 Challenge one-make saloon championships! PinkneyÃ*s last racing experience was in the 2001 BTCC when he drove an Alfa Romeo 147.

ìWe had a fantastic first test at Snettertonî said BarwellÃ*s Chris Needell, ìDave completed over 100 trouble-free laps and we learnt a great deal about the car. Without pushing too hard, and on old tyres, we were only half a second off last yearÃ*s fastest lap. Dave certainly adapted to the car extremely well and thereÃ*s plenty more performance to come.î

Barwell is still in discussion with various drivers regarding the possibility of running a second car alongside PinkneyÃ*s, but nothing is finalised at present.

Autosport reports that Tim Harvey and Steve Sutcliffe will be in the 'guest' Porsches this weekend, and the total grid should be around 16 cars...

12 porsches left after qualifying. Riichard Marsh smashed the armo at the bottom of paddock and needs a new shell. A real pity there.
Qualifying was terminated after only 4 laps.

*ouch* Expensive repair bill...

Shame there's only 12 cars, as I would have thought there'd have been more entries. It's a far cry from the days of four classes and some 30 entries. :(

Quick question - does anyone know if the guest cars are still being run by Parr Motorsport?

Meant to go back & check for you today, Witty but forgot - several other things going on! We think we did see Parr stuff around the guest cars though.

Ann - don't worry. If you saw the Parr truck it probably means that they may well be running the guest cars. Ceefax had the guest cars listed as "Porsche", but since Parr have a link with Porsche GB, it sounds just about right.

Glad Parr still seem to be around - will be an opportunity to catch up with some friends at the Rockingham round.
