Good result, Match was a bit of a shambles though, especially the second half, Sven has no idea on tactics he is so useless
We need to play better that to progress to the Quarters/ Semis

The Czechs are my favourites to win it, they were unlucky in Euro 2004 and were the best team.

True they played really well in euro2004, The 3 goals they scored against USA were amzaing, I know its only the USA but the Czechs goals were the best I've seen yet and Id say they are more exciting to watch than us

If we are going to win it, then we need to prove ourselves worthy. How much of a boost would it be, to beat the hosts? We shouldnt fear Germany, forget about past misfortune, they are beatable. Its the Argentines we need to be wary of, they are a class above the rest.

I agree dannybo we're gonna meet the big teams sooner or later so why not the second round? And the Argentines look the best team in the cup so far they just look dangerous when they attack and seem to perform as a team really well,
Yes England need to get a grip, we've played rubbish against the not so good teams Paraguay, Trinidad and if we play like that against a decent team Germany or possibly Sweden They will beat us, We should play Crouch and Owen up front on tuesday as the sweds are gonna target Rooneys foot if he plays and we should probably drop cole or Beckham and play Lennon he looks good and has a run at the opposition instead of passing it back all the time like other do

I would like us to play with more width, we need to stretch teams. Beckham has fantastic delivery, but he wont stretch teams, in the way that Lennon or Walcot would.
It is too easy to defend against us, if Beckham is the only outlet.
Our best Team is not necessarily our best eleven. I think Sven should drop Lampard in favour of Downing. Perhaps drop Crouch for Rooney and have Joe Cole linking the forwards with midfield.
Having said that though, the only management experience I have, is in Champ manager or Fifa 2006. So what do I know!:o

The thing is with us, we have too many men sitting behind the ball and not making runs forward as they said on the game the other day. and then they have no where to go because there closed down and have to rush a long ball forward which rarely reaches the intended target and we lose possesion, dont know about you but I'd like to start seeing some class goals from individual play like Gerrards the other night and not from set pieces all the time or Beckhams right boot which like they are most of the time, fair play they are goals so I dont moan but it would be nice to see more world class goals like Gerrards, and like the Argentines and Czechs score they a cut above us when it comes to skill and finishing

I just seen on the ITV national news that the England players have admitted they have'nt played there best so far and were saying they wont let the fans down, but they always say that every world cup or European Championships dont they?
I blame Sven they should have sacked that useless bloke a couple of years ago when they had the chanxe over that affair thing now he dont care as hes off and got a job sorted

I still cannot work Sven out, its as if somebody is pulling strings from a higher position with him sometimes. Then other times, he makes very astute changes and more often than not, when he makes a change, it works out.

Im not so sure about that, he does have one of the hardest jobs in Football. The way he has been hounded by the press is an absolute disgrace. He is damned if he does & damned if he doesnt, quite often.

The job is'nt that hard, Most football fans would give there right arm to be in Svens Position, He gets into all the Premiership matches every weekend in the season in top seats and gets paid £100K a year for it, Dont sound too hard to me hes got it easy IMO

I dont know where you got 100k a year from? Try 1m and thats probably a conservative estimate.

Most football fans talk a good game, myself included, but very few could actually do a job either on the pitch or to the side. Its a bit like this forum, for most users. We arent racing drivers, so we talk about it.

Really dissapointed we didnt beat themlast night, First half we did'nt play bad, Joe Cole was amazing,
The second half what a shambles, off the Cross bar twice off the line clearence from Gerrard, the Defence need to get a grip and the goal from the throwing, the defence looked as if they were daydreaming useless! the only high light of the second half was Stevie G's goal amazing.
Felt sorry for Owen going off after the first Min, Not having much luck that fella

Pretty poor first half especially for becks but second half he played better, Rooney was amazing second half considering hes been football starved the last month or so.
Lampard needs to book his ideas up IMO, passing, shooting and balls in the box are very very poor

Did anyone see the Portugal V Holland game, What a game, really good IMO, Cant believe 16 yellow cards and four Red cards, Them two teams look so much better on the ball then we do they have much more skill and look much more cool under pressure than us

I think that game was a record for the amount of cards shown. I think that England have a big performance in them but Portugal have looked a good side so far in the tournament. Big Phil Scolari has knocked England out of the last world cup and european championships.:mad:

It was, best I've ever seen in my lifetime tbh, Did'nt like either team but wanted France to win,
But Italy did well they only let 2 goals in through out the whole tournament and in the group stages and second round they looked fairly average but they seemed to scrape thorugh and win it, Pitty we did'nt have there luck;)
