Hi Alan, hope all is well.

I am wondering if you could clarify a simple issue for me. As ITV broadcast the BTCC do they also hold all rights to any video footage which is recorded by individual's around the circuit ?

I ask this as at Croft I took a short video approximately one minute in length and for the enjoyment of others uploaded it to an internet site called Youtube.com. However I have received an email from the website stating that ITV have requested it to be removed as it is infringing material.

Thank you for your help.

Yes.....the public broadcast of any footage would certainly be deemed as an infringement of copyright, which is perfectly understandable.
There is no restriction on your own private use.

It is not a situation unique to the BTCC or with ITV. The same restrictions apply at almost any sporting event that has a public broadcast arrangement and it is stated either on your ticket or in the race programme (or both).
