so, its apparently the day MG announce what thay are doing this year. i wonder if it will be announced tomorrow and what will be announced, i think we will either be suprised maybe with 2 works cars and 2 or more indie cars or well be gutted with just the 2 works cars.

hope Im wrong but I think we're gonna be told of 2 works cars and the possibility of a third later in the season and thats it :(

As I say hope I'm pleasantly surprised by the anouncement but not holding my breath.

yes, i have seen the article in motorsport news BUT i dont understand why the manging director of MG sport and racing (forgot his name, i think its dick summat!) would tell motorsport news about haing 2 cars and possible 3rd works car, i think its bull from motorsport news and it is just a rumor, im hoping for at least 3 or 4 MG's on the grid, with sumthin like 7 astras on the grid, MG however strong they are will struggle, but i think with MG having the 5bhp more with their 2 exhausts they should be the team to beat, all will be revelaved. (today probably)

I dont think there is any razmadaz announcement planned, maybe just a press release! I had an invite (but had to turn it down) to vist WSR last Friday. Some friends went though. DB was very upbeat apparently of how well MG would do, they are out to WIN!!

thats good news, but wthe extra 5hp it wil mke MG have about the same straightline speed of the other cars if not better, and ive also heard MG & WSR are having to wait to announce things as they are in the middle of a big sponsorship deal, and gareth howel is close to clincing a deal to drive a ZS this year, not sure if it wil be a works car orindie though. so maybe no announement today.

From what I was told, DB gave the impression that the delay in a sponsorship deal was due to nervousness over this 'war' situation! Personally I think it will be Scalectrix, but thats a pure guess!


If there is to be a press release today, expect it at noon.
I will be keeping an eye on the media site!

You honestly think that Motorsport News can just write bull**** like that about BTCC teams without all the right facts?
If it has appeared in the motorsport media about a two car assault on the BTCC by MG then I would take it as read that it will be just that.
They are in the business of giving motorsport fans info on race series, not write rubbish like the tabloid press!

the same article was in autosport as well, its surprising considering their main rivals vauxhall and honda are both running 3 cars.
howell is a strong possibility at GA, its more likely turkington would be in a third mg later in the season.

i think today is the last day for entries so hopefully we'll know the full entry list later today. i'm hoping VLR will be on it.

Don't gert carried away in the hope of seeing the full entry list today, even if it is the last day. Remember last year? We were waiting for weeks before it was announced, and even then it wasn't completed

there's something in this weeks autosport about the btcc, i assume its the 2003 preview, thats when its normally in there, and that has the entry list.
