Sad to hear today that we have lost Barry Sheen to cancer.
I met him back in 1976/7 and he was a really nice bloke.
Condolences to his family and friends.

To a great bloke and a colourful commentator.
Our thoughts are with Barry's wife and two children.
RIP Barry.
I hope the racing up there is great.
Say hi to Will.

I just heard about this, it's terrible news.
Although I never watched him race, Barry seemed like a top bloke, he even took time out to appear in Neighbours once, if I remember rightly!

Sad to see Barry go. He was a top bloke with a fantastic attitude to racing and life in general. I knew he'd been ill for some time, but it was still a shock to hear the news.
He'll be missed by many.
Condolences go to all of his family and friends.

I saw Barry race at Silverstone in the BTCC in 1983 in a Toyota Celica - not really his thing but his two spins at Stowe proved his commitment.
My real memories are more recent. Seeing him on Manx Nortons and the like at the Goodwood Revival meeting was almost sublime. I'm not really a bike fan but I know a superstar at work when I see one and clearly Barry was just that.
His huge battles with Wayne Gardner at last years' Revival were some of the best racing I've ever seen, and it is those images that I'll remember him with.
Barry - Goodwood won't be the same this year...but I bet you'll be watching the action with us though!

I heard this sad news on the radio today.
The only time I have seen Barry race was at the Goodwood Revival last year.
Condolences to all his family and friends.

Like Amanda I last saw Barry at Goodwood in September and hadn't heard much about him since. Very sad news.

British Motorsport has lost two of its greatest stars in the last three months- Will Hoy and Barry Sheene.
Rather ironic that both men were seen for the last time at Goodwood.
These deaths of these two men make me angry. Why does death always hit the good guys?

In this weeks Autosport it says that the Goodwood Revival Meeting will feature a tribute to Barry Sheene. The Lennox Cup will be renamed the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy. Organisers hope to persuade many of Sheene's old rvials to compete in the event.

I don't know if anyone else here heard about this but Dingle Dell at Brands Hatch is going to be renamed "Sheene's Curve" in memory of Barry. Nice touch, that.
