Reynard

HereÃ*s the next renewal of Who, what, where & when.
The answers for Teaser 13 are as follows:
WHO: Derek Warwick
WHAT: Jaguar XJR-6.286 (or Jaguar XJR-6C)
WHERE: Silverstone
WHEN: 1986
Congrats to Stuart for being the first person to solve the complete conundrum!
At the moment, John leads the WWW&W league with 5 correct answers. Stuart occupies runner-up spot with 3, Racefan_uk has 2, while lauz, Speedy and Claire each have 1.
HereÃ*s another one to test the grey matter on ñ again, the clues are all there if you know where to look and what's going on. Remember ñ I will need those four pieces of information from you:
WHO: both drivers this time :)
WHAT: car
WHERE: circuit
WHEN: the year this action took place
So hereÃ*s the next little teaser ñ good luck

This one is going to take some narrowing down on the driver front....
Heres my opening gambit:
Harrier GT1-98
Jamie Campbell-Walter / Charlie Cox
1998
Oulton Park (?)
I'm only confident about the car, and I'm pretty certain on J C-W but there is another lesser known BTCC man who pedalled this car in the two GT races I saw in '98...

Okay.
My opening shot is:
Car - Harrier GT1-98
When - 1998
Where - Spa Francorchamps (Gamble!)
Who - Jamie Campbell-Walter and... Alex Portman
;)

Harrier GT198
Harrier Cars with Evesham Motors
1998
I agree with Alex Portman who drove with Jamie Campbell-Walter
Dont think it Charlie (but it does have Carphone Warehouse / Evening Standard logos which suggests some link with him)
No-one's mentioned Donington yet so I will say Donington Park.

My two race programmes show Alex Portman as team-mate to
J C-W although it was the Carphone Warehouse stickers that made me go for Charlie Cox. I stand by my first answer, although the circuit has really got me beaten....

Hey, can't a girl go off and do an honest day's work? :(
If you want me to be here all the time, then I'll have to set at least one of you to analysing impact test results... You're talking of at least 4000 data points per test and 10 tests to a session and I've got three session's worth of stuff to wade through before a presentation week after next.
As for the WWW&W:
Sorry to rain on your parade lads, but it's NOT 1998 ;)

Ahhh.
In that case, I'll go for:
Who - Win Percy & Charlie Cox (That makes the carphone warehouse tie in!)
What - Harrier LR9 GT97
Where - Croft
When - 1997
Any good?
:)

As I said before - Croft has green and yellow armco so very much doubt its croft

I didn't think that the entire circuit was Green and Yellow. And if it does date back to 1997, was it painted back then?
We don't know because Reynard hasn't given us anymore clues yet!
:p

Yeah its all that colour and yeah it was in 97 - sorry!!! ;)

I'm back - sorry was kinda busy... ;)
I'll put you all out of your misery and tell you that Racefan_uk is the only person who got the answer right! :) I had some fun watching you all go round in circles, especially over the year... :D (What am I like?)
The complete answer is:
WHO: Charlie Cox & Win Percy
WHAT: Harrier LR9
WHERE: Croft
WHEN: 1997
Anyways, the WWW&W league now looks like this:
1) John (5)
2=) Stuart & Racefan_uk (3)
4=) lauz, Speedy & Claire (1)
If anyone can tell me what engine the Harrier used, I'll be well impressed! :)
Next one to be posted shortly...

If you look closely at the picture, you can actually see dark & light bits on the armco. It looks for all that the paint has been stripped off prior to re-painting.
I have the race report here on my desk (Autosport 2nd October 1997) and the photos accompanying the BGT and supports show that only half of the track appeared to be painted up.

As I said in my previous post John, it can be Croft because not all of the Armco is painted and back then it probably wasn't painted anyway.
Oh, and Reynard, the 1997 engine was a Single Turbo'd Cosworth 4 cylinder (RS500) unit. Produced about 540-550 bhp.
:D ;) :p
I'll get me anorak now...
