Okay
Reynard and Stuart are obviously the resident spotters on the forum, this next one is another very easy one, might be best if Reynard hangs fire on this one, for at least an hour or so anyway, as it will give someone else a chance!
So, as always,
Who - Both drivers please
What Car
Where
What year?
Bonus point if you can tell me any other BTCC drivers who were in the race and anything unusual about it?

OOP'S I hit the wrong key!!! I think the other driver is:
Who: Bobby Verdon-Roe and Michael Caine.
What car: TVR Speed 12
Where Oulton park
When: 2001
I hope that is right!

Agree with all that - but I think its 2000 not 2001, which I think would make the second driver Ian McKellar.
Car is a TVR Cerbera Speed 12
Track is Oulton
Driver is Bobby Verdon Roe

The others have got the drivers and track correct so I went off on a mission to find some other BTCC drivers that took part and I came up with
Tim Harvey, David Leslie and Warren Hughes. Tommy Erdos was also there.
Not sure why the race was special, I couldn't find any info on that.

Did John Cleland and Charlie Cox do GT racing in 2000 as well somewhere?

WHO: Bobby Verdon Roe & Ian McKellar Junior
WHAT: TVR Cerbera Speed 12
WHERE: Oulton Park
WHEN: 2000
John is right - it's not 2001 guys.
The colour and the sponsors logos of the 2001 Speed 12 were very different to what we're seeing here. In 2000, the TVR was heavily sponsored by Scania, whereas in 2001, the car was black and had more emphasis on TVR and Siemens as primary sponsors. Have a look at my WWW&W (02) to see what the 2001 car looks like.
Also, you can date the car by the fact that the the BGT used different style door numbers in 2000 and 2001. In 2000, the GT cars had red numbers on a white background, while in 2001, the GT cars had black numbers on a white background. In contrast, the 2000 GTO cars had black numbers on a white background while in 2001, they had white numbers on a black background.
BTCC drivers in the race were: Bobby Verdon-Roe, John Cleland, Tim Harvey, Tommy Erdos and Chris Goodwin. Other BTCC drivers in 2000 BGT were Warren Hughes, Julian Bailey, Tiff Needell, David Leslie
One interesting entry was something that looked like a Lancia Stratos. Whether it was the real thing or a convincing replica, I don't know.
Also, the TVR ran out of fuel with a lap to go while in the lead.

Sorry for the delay guys, have been away from my PC all day.
Okay, I seem to have stumped you all a little on this one, you've all got the circuit wrong!
Yes, it is 2000
Yes, it is McKellar and BV-R
Yes its the TVR Speed 12.
If you know the circuit you might know what made the race so special.!

Must be one of:
Thruxton
Croft
Oulton
Donington Park
Silverstone
Brands Hatch
Snetterton
Spa-Francorchamps
Will go for Spa
Reynard

Is it Donington?
That was the first race the Speed 12 won.
Stuart

Ian McKellar and Bobby Verdon Roe
TVR Cerbera Speed 12
Thruxton 2000
This was the first ever PowerTour meeting.
If I remember right, the bonnet flew off this car at something like 170mph on Woodham Hill!
Other drivers in the race...
Thomas Erdos - Marcos LM600
John Cleland & Warren Hughes in a Porsche GT3
Just hope I'm right after all that...

Stuart nailed it!
He was spot on, in every way! The only thing he didn't get perfect was the "special" part of the race I was thinking of, but he got the drivers, so I'm happy enough!
It was
BV-R & Ian McKellar Jr
TVR Speed 12
Thruxton
2000
The part of the race I was thinking of was that John Cleland drove with arren Hughes in a Porsche GT3R and actually led the race outright when the top GT class boys pitted early. He had a live radio link up too that everyone could hear, that was quite amusing!
It was the first time that the GTO clategory had been officially in the British GT Championship and he ended up leading it in one!
Well done Stuart, Reynard, sorry, you were so close!
John, I thought when I went down your list you would have chosen Thruxton as it was at the top! I have one more, I'll post it later!

Now you mention it, John Cleland wired for sound was pretty amusing, especially as he didn't seem to realise when we were all listening to him. Hearing him trying to get a decision on whether or not to pit out of the crew was hilarious!
