I was just looking through this weeks Autosport and noticed that Vauxhall are selling there Astras. This is the first time I have seen any team from the BTCC useing Autosport to sell them. It really does raise the question of what car will they use next year.

Err, Vauxhall advertised their Astras in Autosport at end of 01,02,03,04 and now 06.

And how/why does it raise the question of what they'll use next year? They've already announced they're going to S2000 and a new car in 07, so its given no new information at all.

Will be a Vectra, just not announced yet I believe. How did the advert raise the question anymore than the fact VX had announced they were building new cars?

Cause it raises it as if they cant have the cars ready for the first race (might happen but they are pros so it wont) then they wouldnt have anything to drive. And Vauxhall and Motorbase Performance are the only people upto yet to confirm but I think we know Seat and Halfords will be back.

VXRs cars will be finished long before April! I expect the first version to be testing in Spain/Italy in January, with all the cars ready by late February/early March as usual.

Is there any truth in the rumour that VXR have been testing the SEAT Leon Cupra in the belief that they might have more luck in the lower division?

You are right.

Autosport said a few months back that Vauxhall were using Vectras next year.

Also the track commentator at Silverstone said that Vauxhall will be racing Vectras next year during one of the races on the Sunday.

It doesn't mean they'll race Vectras though. If you look at the Vauxhall site there are VXR models of all the cars, including the Vectra and Monero, and a Corsa VXR coming soon.

they can't race the monaro because its way ova the s2000 spec wat i've heard of the corsa vxr doesn't reach the s2000 spec but the vectra is basicly near enough 2 the new s2000 spec need so out off all the vectra is the possible 1 but all we know is that they could ave newer astra's i don't know

And all the power going to the front wheels. No thanks, especially after seeing it on Top Gear.
