Any more news on what Vic's team are doing this year. The last I heard was in autosport when Vic Lee said that they team are hurring to prepare the touring class 307s in time for the first race. And that they are keeping the 406 coupes on stand by if the cars not ready on time

We are still waiting to hear, with media day booked for the 2nd April hopefully all should be known soon.

Thats the last I heard too - I am hoping that no news is good news (ie if the deals had fallen through then an announcement would have been made!) But all we can do is wait. I suppose someone's checked the website for news already have they?

The entry list has apparently been finalised but it sounds like we won't get to know what's on it until Media Day (2nd April). We'll just have to keep on waiting / guessing!

Didn't Westie say he'd publish it this week sometime?
VLR usually spring a surprise; last year while we were all wondering about a 3rd Proton or Honda, up pop VLR with an extra Pug for Breezey...

This is just speculation but I think VLR will run Dan Eaves and Carl Breeze, and Dan Buxton will be in a 406 for most of the season, but will get a run in th 307 towards the end of the year!

Sounds the most logical plan for the season AF

I'm really hopeful that they will make a last minute entry. I wouldn't care if they ran the 406's. I would like to see them run the 307's, but the 406's is better than them not being in the BTCC at all. :)

VLR are on the official Touring class entry list for 2 cars but all other details are TBA. Speaking to Vic today that announcement should hopefully be on Friday.

I'll be interested to see who the sponsors are. I spotted an article in the sun today about halfords and how they've been losing money and are making job cuts, unfortunately it had a picture of a team halfords 406 and highlighted that halfords could have used money more wisely to save job cuts rather than using it on the BTCC. (It gave the impression that they'd been wasting moeny on VLR) :(

Yes, only the Sun could say that if Halfords aren't selling enough to cover costs that they should stop advertising

Maybe they should have bought some astras instead. :)

Ye I noticed that. Wouldn't of read it if it wasn't for the BTCC picture. Seems a shame they are laying off so many people, yet they put allot of money into funding VLR. Maybe ditching the sponsorship would be better for Halfords.

Apparently the official launch will now be next Friday although Autosport will have the story the day before. Talk about taking it down to the wire!

Ann ~ not too much longer for you and Claire to wait for the announcement. Fingers crossed it is good news for you!

Dan Buxton will not be driving for VLR this year; he's sorted out a deal to race in Clio's again after a sponsor pulled out.
I expect VLR's plans will be revealed in Autosport tomorrow... don't know what they're up to, but it must be big enough to warrant a "BTCC Scoop" from Autosport!

On another note, just looking at the Autosport website, I think it says (on a very small picture of the cover of tomorrow's mag) "1000 BTCC tickets to give away" - better rush to your newsagents then!

 My postman was unsavaged in the early hours of this morning, but that's because he delivered the goods on time - there would have been trouble if he hadn't put in an appearance by 7.30am! :p

My postman was safe as I don't subscribe to said magazine, but I did get up early so I could go to the shop on my way to work, and you know how much I love to sleep so that was quite a sacrifice but well worth it. ;)
